As an American that has lived in more countries than I have states I would say everyone is partial to believe their own country is better than somewhere else. about 80% of the time its NOT. Not sure where the commenter is coming from but I bet good ole Uncle Sam has saved or intervened for the better of their country on more than one occasion. Its also easy to criticize while not disclosing where you are from. If anyone does unbias due diligence you will NOT find a country that has their s**t completely together. If you did then everyone would be like them.

And don't forget the educational system and the amount of religious nuts! We had an exchange-teacher from the US in highschool. He was absolutely shocked when he saw our curriculum. He said it was a lot tougher than in the US for students of the same age. And English is our second language. He was also shocked that we are taught a THIRD language from the age of about 12 yo. (Norway).

Honestly I hate stuff like that. America, as publicized as its faults are, is still the best place in the world to live! (With the exception of maybe some town in Norway 😂). Really, I know it’s obnoxious, and everywhere seems better on vacation, but I would pick America over anywhere else in a heartbeat.

Look, as much as I get where this person is coming from, please get your goddamn facts correct. To this day, abortion isn't illegal, however it is true that the procedure is being challenged in many states (which does suck). Using data from Wikipedia (https://bit.ly/2IUADzJ), it looks like that only 5 out of the 10 largest cities in the US have murder rates that are 200 and above, so I'm not exactly sure where OP is coming from with "literal hundreds of gun murders in every single large city every year". With that being said, I won't deny that we do have a serious gun issue in this country and we should do more to address it. I know that this really didn't make as much news as it did with the initial cases, but in 2018 a federal court ruled that feeding the homeless is protected by the first amendment.

(1) I agree with 90% of it, but it is always all or nothing when it comes to America, from non-Americans. Yes, some of what was said is true, some of it speculative, and this person probably comes from a country that has 1/10 of our population. I lived overseas for four years, and I still prefer the US (Trump excluded) I now live in Portland, yeah, THAT Portland, and I am a 5 minute drive to the riot sites downtown, and it is as peaceful and beautiful as it always is here. The loudest, weirdest, most extreme examples ALWAYS get used ---“Only in America” haha NOT!, and people assume all of the US is like that. IT'’S NOT. Yes, Trump did not win the popular vote, and is NOT my President. But if you can't see the other side, you are just another "one-eyed" US hater. Democrats, Republicans, and Independents of good will/integrity/respect for our Constitution from all walks of life are getting together and putting country over party, working our butts off to get that clown out of office.

A lot of immigrants work in jobs that others don’t want to do, majority have come for a better life and will take what they can, they have to start their lives all over again and they are not picky like many of us westerners (especially the privileged). They often take the lower paying jobs like trolley collectors, taxi/uber drivers, food delivery drivers and fruit pickers etc. What a lot of people don’t seem to understand is that a lot of these immigrants are well educated but their qualifications mean nothing because of where they are from and studied so they have to do it all over again.

I remember a time before vaccinations. I think you should get a vaccination for anything you possibly can - why suffer/die without reason? But, as most adults had had the disease in childhood this generally only affected children. In the western world with good nutrition etc complications were exceptionally rare. Deaths DID happen but they were rare. But if a vaccination is available why would you take the chance?
