Over the Moon Art Exhibit combines the talents of photographer, Ken Sharp and painter, Lisa D’Amico with their passion for the important work of the Center for Safety and Change. The Center for Safety & Change provides shelter and supportive services that empower survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse and other crimes in Rockland County, New York. The artists will donate 20% of all art sales and donations will also be accepted. Over the Moon will be on exhibit through December 31, 2018 at The Corner Frame Shop Gallery, 40 S. Franklin St., Nyack, New York.

Painter, Lisa D’Amico is inspired by emotions and her artwork primarily focuses on translating and provoking them in her viewers. She strives to reproduce the varied facets of feelings through her deep fascination with color and composition and the struggles that occur between them. Her creative process usually begins with a series of sketches, which serves as her inspirational catalyst to canvas, paper or printing block. Her techniques for the actual artwork often involves building up areas of color through the application of many layers of paint, latex, compounds and ink to achieve vibrant color effects and multitudes of texture. “Every new painting is a deep breath. A new beginning to tell a story using color and creativity.”

Photographer, Ken Sharp has enjoyed many creative outlets over the years. Photography was always a flirtation for him, but has grown to become a more serious relationship. And while he loves capturing traditional beauty on film as much as the next person, he is much more interested in photographing the subtle beauty that often goes overlooked. “I’m in love with forgotten moments and discarded yesterdays. I’m enamored with urban grit, and the effects of time and neglect on our world. I seek out accidental beauty, unintentional cool, and unexpected smiles. Life is full of serendipitous surprises, and hunting for them is great fun.”
