For an article titled “Let’s Talk About Race,” American photographer and screenwriter Chris Buck took three photos by reversing the roles of women of different ethnicities. The images were used to illustrate the May issue of The Oprah Magazine. In one of them, in a salon, white women make the toenails of a group of Asian women.

In another, a blonde girl looks undecided and has no choice when it comes to buying a doll, since all on the shelves of the store represent black girls. In the third, a white woman in uniform serves tea for her Latin mistress, who does not seem to even notice her presence. This work of Buck was essential to stimulate a dialogue on race, social justice and power among women.
