In 2015, my dog Sasha the Samoyed died at the ripe old age of 16 years. She came into my life when she was just under a year old as a very energetic ball of fluff who loved to make friends with everyone on her walks. During the years, I learnt so many lessons from Sasha about happiness, how to live in the now and living life to the fullest. I initially wrote a poem about Sasha and then it evolved into a picture book. The main character, Digger the dog in “My Friend Digger” is written in memory of Sasha and the lessons she taught me.
