Playing the ukulele is cool. But playing a ukulele that looks like a fruit is AWESOME. We are a trio from Toronto and go by the name The Fruity Ukuladies. We started by posting videos online and the response we’ve received worldwide has been surprising and delightful.
One of our most memorable experiences was creating a song based on the lyrics of a 7-year-old girl who posted a video on YouTube singing her own songs. We had never met her and she had no idea we were doing this. But when her mom caught wind of it online, she and her daughter posted a new video of them playing our song. It’s amazing how we can connect with strangers from all around the world, just with a silly little instrument like the uke.
