Walk In Our Shoes Art Exhibit Makes Strides For Lgbtq+ Community

PFLAG Rockland will be hosting their first art exhibit, Walk In Our Shoes throughout the month of September 2019 at The OUTSIDE IN in Piermont, New York. Walk In Our Shoes has matched allies of PFLAG Rockland with talented artists to share their stories and their shoes. Our shoes are a universal source of our identity and expression. In this art exhibit, the artists were inspired to create original two-dimensional artwork through the shoes and stories of PFLAG Rockland allies. All artwork will be available for viewing and purchase in benefit of PFLAG Rockland.

Walk In Our Shoes Art Exhibit is an expression of how our lives and identities affect our experiences. It’s intended to be a catalyst for conversation, awareness and acceptance. Please join us and share in the conversation at the Opening Reception on Sunday, September 15th from 2pm-4pm at The Outside In, 249 Ferdon Ave, Piermont NY.

PFLAG was created in the 1970s and is the extended family of the LGBTQIA community. PFLAG’s mission is to build on a foundation of loving families united with LGBTQIA people and allies who support one another, and to educate ourselves and our communities to speak up as advocates until all hearts and minds respect, value and affirm LGBTQIA people. PFLAG’s passion powers life-long parent, family and allied leaders in the struggle for justice and equality while their support groups heal, re-connect and empower. It believes seemingly small interactions can catalyze monumental changes in our families, lives, communities, and institutions over time.
