Our story

After our son, Aron (8), was diagnosed as autistic at the age of 5, many puzzle pieces had clicked into place. It turned out that his first meltdowns at age three weren’t caused by jealousy towards his newborn sister, Hanna. They happened because of his sudden feeling of uncertainty, when our focus shifted away from him and his usual routine, which is disastrous for autistic children.

I started to paint the Emotiblots™ schedule cards for him to make sure he feels safe and happy. With the cards, creating daily schedules became simple. There are more than 80 of them by now (both emotion & schedule cards). Since then, the printables helped more than 1,000 kids become happier by making them feel “in the loop”. After a while, we started to experiment with a more durable version. Therefore the magnets were born.

The magnets

With the schedule magnets, we aim to help families of autistic children. These magnets are consistent, beautiful & save parents a lot of time. They last much longer and way easier to use than laminated cards and can be passed on to the next generation.

We started a crowdfunding campaign to bring this idea to reality. Our dream is to develop an innovative off-screen schedule system for autistic kids and providing them with other high-quality visual tools. Our mission is reducing the amount of laminating plastic that’s used when parents print schedule cards at home and create a product which reminds us to the age of our grandparents, where keeping things for as long as possible was the norm.
