How did you get the idea for this series?

I am fascinated by the Urban Landscape. I am always looking for geometry and symmetry obsessively in each composition and Hong kong is a perfect place for it. These residential apartments is incredibly symmetrical and I can create an extremely unique looking shoot with an ultra wide angle lenses by looking straight up. Shooting with an ultra wide angle lenses allows me to capture an extremely unique image by looking straight up. Hong Kong Government Housing is the perfect example of this.

A lack of space and a large population means everything in Hong Kong is built as high and as packed as possible to conserve precious space as an example Smart Urban planning is needed to meet recreational needs for millions of Hong Kong residents with sport ground, as an example this basketball court was built on the top of a car parking.

According to Dietrich Herlan, most of these building are extremely tall and sometime when you look at them closely then you see clothes and thing hanging of the windows and then you imagine that there are hundreds or even thousands of windows and you think about that behind each window there is family.
