Our social media feeds often contain much more than just innocent puns and juicy innuendo. If we keep our eyes open, every now and then, we can notice important social topics popping up alongside funny relatable TikToks and mind-bending Twitter threads.
Even more so if we follow accounts that are consciously trying to make statements and spark discussions. Like the Instagram page 'Nasty Feminism.'
Calling itself a "leftist activism-based" online project, it unapologetically shares hot takes on a wide variety of issues, ranging from racism to migration and everything in between. Here are a few of their most popular posts.

According to a 2020 Pew Research Center survey about gender equality, many of the values of the feminist movement have been accepted across the political spectrum in the United States, even among Americans who don't personally identify as feminists.
For instance, a majority of Democrats and Republicans say it is very important for women to have equal rights with men. Similarly, majorities in both partisan coalitions support adding the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
But feminists are much more likely than non-feminists to say the country has not gone far enough when it comes to giving women equal rights with men (74% vs. 39%). Feminists are also more likely to say the bigger problem is people not seeing discrimination against women where it really does exist, rather than people seeing discrimination against women where it really does not exist (81% of adults who identify as feminists say not seeing discrimination is the bigger problem, compared with 53% of non-feminists).
These and other forms of video surveillance are sometimes the ONLY evidence and there are still attempts to suppress it.
The researchers think these differences can be somewhat explained by partisanship: feminists are far more likely than non-feminists to identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party.
Overall, Democrats and those who lean Democratic are more likely than Republicans and Republican leaners to say gender equality is very important, and they are more than twice as likely to say the country has not gone far enough in giving women equal rights (76% vs. 33%). And while most Democrats (85%) say the bigger problem is people not seeing discrimination against women where it really does exist, a much smaller share of Republicans (46%) say the same.
As all movements do, feminism has evolved greatly since its beginning in the 19th century. Another 2020 Pew Research Center survey found that overall, the public feels the feminist movement has contributed to the advancement of women's rights in the U.S.: 22% say it's done a great deal and 48% say it’s done a fair amount.
But 43% of adults who say feminism describes them very or somewhat well also say the movement is polarizing, and 45% would not describe it as inclusive.
Note to all the BP users who lump millionaires in with billionaires.
However, Cynthia de las Fuentes, Ph.D., past-president of American Psychological Association's Div. 35 (Society for the Psychology of Women), thinks such negative perceptions derive from media distortion-not the movement's mission of equality for the sexes at work and at home.
She also believes that many simply don't realize that equality has yet to be achieved.
"A lot of young people think that women's rights have already been accomplished," said de las Fuentes, an associate professor at San Antonio-based Our Lady of the Lake University. "We've got Title IX; we've got laws against gender discrimination. But they don't realize there are still so many forces against women's rights, like reproductive rights and pay equity. We still have 73 cents on the dollar a man earns."
Luckily, as the popularity of this Instagram shows, people appreciate the reminders.
Not matter what happens to this woman, she'll be able to look at herself in the mirror, because she has retained her humanity. Can those seeking to jail her say the same?
Better screening to become a police officer??? IDK but too many are starting to look like they have joined a club/cult that hunt humans
Maybe just starting to require an actual training that focuses not only on shooting skills? In some european countries, policemen are trained about 3 years not also in practice but also in special colleges, ranging from law, traffic organisation, psychology, sociology to political sciences. Yes, shooting and defense, too, but not that much. Some american states still do not require much more than a few weeks of shooting training.
Load More Replies...Jacob Blake admitted on live tv to having a knife in his hand as he fought the police. They were there because he had sexually assaulted his gf before and she had a restraining order against him, and then he showed up, fought with her, stole her car keys, and tried to illegally take his kids from her lol. You people are gross for trying to make him some kind of a victim. Karma is a mirror and he deserved everything he got.
He deserved being tried in a court of law. The cops had guns and training. They should have used that training to disarm him and drag his ass to jail. Chances are, his conviction would not have resulted in a death sentence. Cops are not judge and jury, and so should not act like it.
Load More Replies...I don't understand this violence at all. When I was in my Administration of Justice class in high school 20 yes ago as a precursor to studying law enforcement in college, my teacher, who was a retired deputy sheriff taught us that deadly force is almost always unnecessary. He only fired his gun once in his entire career. To never fire when bystanders are close or could be injured, and never a fleeing car or fleeing person. That there is usually another nonlethal way to apprehend the suspect. He was also former secret service in the 70s.
If you know these cases but don't know Tony Timpa and Daniel Shaver, you're missing the point. It's not white vs. black; it's blue vs. everyone.
Is it true that the training for police in the US is something like 2 mths, where as in Europe it's a 3-4 yr degree?
Yes. The average police basic training is about 21 months. I wish it was longer, such as part of a degree program. https://bjs.ojp.gov/content/pub/pdf/slleta13.pdf
Load More Replies...Unfortunately, far too many police officers seem to be closet bullies who derive some kind of satisfaction from power-trippin.
Where is your war cry of BLM when blacks are killing blacks by the scores in Chicago?
Nah, Jacob Blake is a piece of street trash that should have been neutered and have his kids taken away. They recovered the knife he was grabbing and he was resisting arrest, deal with it.
Thing is, this is an American problem. UK police don't shoot anyone, and outside of London (which is incidentally riddled with black-on-black gun and knife gang crime), the police don't tend to "profile" black people either. Nobody should be judged by the colour of their skin, but if BLM protests are full of riots, criminal damage, and woke white post-grads then something has gone wrong.
When someone asks you to donate to "Save the whales" do you also give them a lecture about how foxes are important too? If they ask you to help "Save the Rainforests"...do you also make sure they know how important Temperate Forests are as well? OF COURSE NOT. You most likely understand that someone asking you to help save endangered whales does not mean they do not want to help foxes or sea lions or giraffes as well...but that whales face a special type of danger. We are not saying that tundras or temperate forests are not as important as rain forests or they dont get cut down when we say to "Save the Rain Forests"...we understand that THEY need a bit of attention now due to their vulnerability. SAME CONCEPT HERE. Why can you all get it when talking about whales or rainforests...but not HUMANS? Black Lives Matter does NOT mean others do not!! Not a hard concept.
Load More Replies...Yeah, I see those arguments a lot. Things like "He did have a counterfeit $20 bill!". AND THAT MEANS HE DESERVES TO DIE? Since when is there a death penalty on counterfeit bills? Or just on having priors? Or on sleeping in your bed? Even if someone is a real criminal, there is still a) no death penalty on their crime or b) a police is not a judge, jury or executioner and can't kill someone even if there's a death penalty on the crime.
A "friend" of mine calls it "Barbie goes to College". She has never seen it and just thinks it must be stupid. It's a wonderful movie
That is how politics should work but sad that it takes an external agency to do what our government should have the money to do.
And this is Serena Williams, a world-famous wealthy tennis player, ffs. Good luck if you're just an average woman or much worse, when you are actually poor and a minority on top of that.
And that was awesome, since I live in Tulsa. I could literally see the empty arena as Trump and his representatives were on TV lying and saying it was full.
It actually angers a lot of people. But gender reveal parties are not brought on by politics.
How is buying a turkey at the grocery, a turkey that was slaughtered, any different?
And eventually people will be able to say "All these African countries have been independent for longer than they were British colonies." Isn't the concept of time wonderful.
Children used to be sentenced to hard labor for stealing bread. Inequalities have ALWAYS existed. Nothing is new.

This was the first BP article that actually made me gag and retch. Not because of the posts themselves, but because of the number of comments that just ooze toxicity and hate... Neither racism nor sexism are a right to be constitutionally defended.
They're everywhere. I advise everyone to keep reporting them. It takes Bored Panda quite a while to get rid of them.

I thought that to, but it is shared by the account "nasty feminists", so they are just posting their source.
Load More Replies...I will still say "f*ck 2020". And 2021. Because so many died for no reason. I'm not sure who exactly assumed none of the other stuff was around before that, but if they only clued in during 2020, well, dang, about time, now help!
Im so sad now, that is irrelevant. But my heart goes out to everyone living this life and faces the fear that comes with it. I cant even think of anything empowering or comforting to say. Its just Sick, obviously so sick. Im ashamed to be so protected by the color of my skin. I never keep my mouth shut when i hear someone say stupid s**t, that is the least i can do, but it will never measure up or be enough. Im so so sorry ❤️
Now guys, you something else they should out here??? Okay, so I saw this post of this women, she was sick, really sick, she was fighting for her life to survive. In the making, she had to have a bunch of surgeries and medicine to help her, but, it would make her face and body features messed up. Now, I saw this post that said, "if you think that this is just as beautiful as this, retweet ❤️" and it showed her next to a super model. Tons of retweets. Okay, but, hear me out, let the downvotes begin, why the f**k does that matter??? Her features may not be the best, she may not have wonderfully beautiful hair, or the wonderful blue eyes and long eyelashes, but she is beautiful. She is beautiful for fighting. For being so strong. For keep going and staying positive. She's amazing. And all you can say is she beautiful?? F**k that, that would be the last thing I say, because that's not what matters. Who cares?? She an amazing women and a very strong one, to.
What I'm trying to say is, beauty shouldn't be the first thing you look at. Like that girl, she was incredibly Ill,and went through so much pain and surgeries, and all you can say is she's beautiful?? Who cares??
