My name is Tatjana Lee. I am a Munich based visual portrait artist. The essential theme of my work of art is about the interaction between man’s external (physical) and internal (spiritual) identity and how this is showing in a humans face.

As Germany is getting confronted with people of different ethnics and cultural background due to the refugees issue, I started wondering why is it that people are so afraid of faces that look different from what they are used to. I observed my own reaction when travelling to a country with different ethnic and cultural background. The first impression was to see the people as a population of anonymous identities, making me also feel anonymous and unconnected to the people. As I got more and more in touch with the people among me, I started to discover the new, beautiful diverse and interesting characters around me. More than that, I also met a whole bunch of new identities within myself. I decided to share this positive experience with a social media art project:

Traveldentity resembles the fun to discover new identities within yourself due to the mind broadening process of travelling.
