Fall is undeniably the best season to travel. Cool weather, cheaper accommodations, and the spectacular display of vibrant leaves as they turn from green to gold, red, and Auburn.
To find the best places to enjoy this seasonal wonder, your cue is to go where the temperate deciduous trees grow in abundance. Oaks, maples, beeches, sweetgums, yellow-poplars, dogwoods, and hickories are some of the tree varieties that have their leaves changing colors during the fall season.

Acadia National Park, New England, US
Acadia National Park is my favorite fall destination. There’s terrific foliage throughout New England, but Acadia is the only place where the mountains meet the sea. To see those mountains blaze yellow and red against the deep blue Gulf of Maine … it’s just spectacular. There are so many ways to enjoy fall in the park. You can go for a hike, ride bikes on the Rockefeller Carriage Roads, drive along the Park Loop Road. On a clear sunny day, there’s no place better.

Bath, England
Bath (Somerset) is a town out of a Jane Austen’s book. It is amazingly beautiful and charming in general, but in the Autumn it is breathtaking. The sand coloured Georgian houses blend with the gold and red trees and turn the whole town into an Autumnal postcard.

Central Park, New York, USA
New York City is probably better known for their concrete jungle than trees and autumn foliage. But Central Park is one of the best places in the city to see the leaves change; The Mall walkway leading to the Bethesda Fountain, Bethesda Fountain near The Lake, and Gapstow Bridge by The Pond, all provide an amazingly colorful view during the fall.

The picture is captured at Pavlosk park, St Petersburg, Russia. It is our first time when we really felt the beauty of Autumn colors. Each picture we captured looks like a painting. Walking amidst those beautiful trees lined up in the Pavlosk Park, with leaves turned into golden color was really captivating.

The Great Smoky Mountain National Park, US
The Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the most visited park in the United States, is most well known for its enchanting fall foliage. While this photo was taken in the beginning of October, late October and November are the best times to witness the fall changes. Simply take a drive through the winding mountain roads or hike one of the dozens of trails–like Chimney Tops or Laurel Falls–in order to witness the splendor of the fall colors!

Silver Springs, found just outside of Elko in British Columbia is a awash with autumnal colors. Silver Springs is made up of three lakes and the further you are prepared to walk the more alone you’ll find yourself.

You’ll find some lovely spots around the UK to witness the fall foliage. The Tree Cathedral in Milton Keynes is up there with the best thanks to lines of beautifully symmetrical trees emerging from the ground coated in fallen autumn leaves.

Frankfurt, Germany is surprisingly one of the most colorful places I’ve witnessed autumn foliage in. This was taken inside of a park called Rebstock Park and it is simply too beautiful for words this time of year.

The Adirondacks, New York, USA
Autumn in the Adirondacks is a time for crisp hikes, mountains on fire with color, and lakes still warm enough for a refreshing dip. Peak foliage usually arrives in late-September or early October depending on the year. While tough to choose, autumn in the Adirondack Park is our favorite season. We spend most of it either hiking out on the trails or paddling the Adirondack waterways. Another bonus, there are no bugs!

Autumn is the time when trees proudly show there glory . I'm in the Smoky Mountains area , &, love this time of year for the visual beauty of the trees I always wonder if city dwellers have any idea what they miss....It isn't just the bright & muted colors of the leaves. It's walking on them. The crunching is as satisfying as bubble wrap. Then, there is the pause of daily activity . It's a period of slowing down, reflecting , listening to the sounds of your feet crunching leaves, birds singing , &, kids playing .
