Todd is a 3 year old bull lurcher, currently living at Stray Aid in Coxhoe, Durham, UK – where he has been for 200 days as of tomorrow, and counting.

Todd is very popular among the staff at the center, but unfortunately has not had much interest from potential adopters. It is impossible to say why, as Todd was found as a stray and was not microchipped, so it is impossible to say what has happened to him in the past, but Todd is absolutely terrified of children and though he enjoys the company of other dogs he is not very well socialized and hasn’t learned to say hello quite as politely as some other dogs would like.

Todd requires a child free home, due to his severe fear and anxiety around children. He has not been cat tested, but would do well in a home with a canine playmate. A confident but easy going dog that isn’t going to take his poor social skills to heart and will help him learn how to be a dog would be ideal.

If you believe that you can offer Todd a home, please contact Stray Aid (strayaid.org.uk) to book an appointment.

Handsome

Todd is a very handsome young man, and thanks to his friend Auntie Hannah, who is one of the members of staff who care for him in the kennels, he has learned to pose in front of the camera beautifully.

The song of my people.

Todd is charming, very loving and affectionate with people he knows and always entertaining to be around.

Beautiful Eyes

Though Todd’s markings are limited to the light speckles on his ears, he does make up for his otherwise plain appearance with his beautiful puppy dog eyes. Shown in their true glory only when you have chicken.

Many Friends

Since arriving in the kennels Todd has made many friends, human and canine alike. Unfortunately all of his doggy friends get adopted much faster than him.

Play Dates

As Todd gets stressed in kennels and enjoys a little more consistency from his playmates Auntie Hannah takes him out on her days off so that he can play with her dogs. This helps him to learn better socialization and he has done very well, making friends with daft young dogs like himself.

Working Shifts

After being with Stray Aid for so long Todd has even found new ways to entertain himself. Recently this involved helping a shift working the reception desk, though it proved to be a much more exhausting task than he had anticipated.

Socialization Outside

As Todd doesn’t get to meet many strangers and is terrified of children he needs to be slowly introduced to people and busy situations. So Auntie Hannah also takes him out into the village to get used to being around pedestrians and strangers. Though nervous and sometimes a little noisy, Todd has been showing much improvement.
