Those are many of the reasons a woman is afraid to fall in love. She’s tired of giving her all and ending up with nothing. She’s been made to feel like she was asking for too much when all she was asking for was love. She’s tired of always ending up with a broken heart and what scares her the most is having to experience it all over again and not knowing if she can handle another disappointment in the name of love. She has given so much of herself because she knows no other way. She has been understanding, and has loved without limits. She has gone the extra mile because she loves hard. She has been on the receiving end of some painful verbal abuse, yet she still chose to love. Despite of everything she was put through and dealt with she always came up short. All of her efforts were never enough. She invested so much of herself into making her relationships work.
After so many failed attempts at finding love she started to realize that love can’t be forced and no matter how much of yourself you give someone if they can’t see your value then they shouldn’t be worth your time. Experiences have taught her that she can’t afford to be careless with her heart. She’s learned that even when you give someone your all they will make you feel like you are not good enough. She’s learned to stop investing so much of herself into relationships that are not worth it.
So now she’s careful in who she decides to let in to her heart. She’s afraid of fully committing to someone who will only serve as a distraction. She no longer trusts easily. She’s really careful about getting excited too soon about someone who is probably only going to get her hopes up and end up walking out of her life once she’s fallen. She’s careful about falling for someone whose intentions are to only be in her life temporarily. She no longer has the energy to deal to invest into dead end relationships. When it comes to loving her, you will have to be patient. You will have to prove to her that you mean well and your intentions are to show her different than what she’s known. A woman with a guarded heart will seem difficult to break but once her walls come down she will shower you with the love you’ve never experienced before. The most guarded women love the hardest because they know what it feels like to be hurt. Allow her time to heal once she picks up all those broken pieces you will be glad you never gave up on her. She just needs time and someone who understands her brokenness and still chooses to love her.
