Pole dancing is fast becoming a popular sport for women (and men!). You might think it’s all sleaze and raunch – that may be part of it – but climbing up a pole and spinning and kicking and balancing yourself on it is a phenomenal workout that does wonders for the body and mind.

It’s a full-on total-body exercise that includes your cardio, resistance, and flexibility all rolled into one single exercise that has you blasting away calories, while at the same time building strength and stamina. And because there isn’t much running and jumping around, it practically has no impact, which means anyone up to a hundred years old can do this exercise.

Pole dancing is such a gut-blasting workout that many enthusiasts are now calling for pole dancing to be included in the Olympics. We’re not going to see it this year, but there are many pole dancing competitions where the world’s best pole dancers show off their mind-blowing tricks.

Finnish professional dancer and three-time world champion Oona Kivela is one of them. Check out Oona’s amazing video below.
