“The Protector”
Being a military wife isn’t always easy! However, my husband has always tried his best to make me comfortable with our lifestyle change. I am terrified of bad weather & whenever I hear a tornado warning I feel as if I’ll faint because I’m extremely scared! My husband never fails to put me at ease when he is home to make me feel safe simply by wrapping his arms around me & telling me everything will be okay! I made this photo because it is the epitome of his love for me! He is away right now & I can not wait until he comes home! This last weekend there was a tornado warning where we live and the sirens were going off. I didn’t know what to do or what to think. My children were scared and I was literally panicking (close to fainting). I closed my eyes and remembered this photo & I knew everything would be okay! Everytime I look at this photo my heart just drops & he is truly my protector! I hope you guys enjoy this image as much as I do!

Where we live , we were in a severe tornado in 2002, where 4 people died , homes were demolished to the ground, garages blew in lakes & thousands of trees were lost . We needed a new roof as did about 1000 other homes. We were lucky. Mennonite men showed up with chain saws & tarps & assisted hundreds of people. Neighbors worked together to cut trees, rescue people , & set up cold meals (no electricity) . Red Cross came slowly, & , so did FEMA, but, FEMA was here for months. We ,also, had the tornado warning, losing power , with 70-80 mph winds. Trees were uprooted everywhere ... even my short street, some roads were impassable, trees fell on homes & all I hear now is chainsaws. You are indeed lucky to have strong arms around you. I had my arms around my dying husband. Fear is hard to overcome , but, it would help your children if you could.
Oh..this made me so sad for You! I am blessed indeed! I never want to experience actually being in a tornado! I try to be strong and not so scared but it's so hard not knowing what will happen! Thank you for your story! ❤ I will definitely be stronger, next time it storms, for my children!
