Iceland – the land of trolls, fairies and hobbits. Breathtaking volcanic landscape, endless lava fields, high snow covered glaciers, turfed houses and churches, picturesque fishing villages and floating icebergs. Malta and Gozo – two islands in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Not quite Italian, not quite English, not quite North African – but a bit of all of those cultures. The Lake Maggioer is unique. One part is in Switzerland but the biggest part of the lake lies in Italy. See Stresa and its splendid hotels from a time past. Stroll through typical Italian Cannobio with its charming little alleys and get some amazing views of the hermitage Santo Caterina del Sasso. The Swiss site also has a lot to offer. The very charming village of Ascona with its colourful houses, lively Locarno, Bellinzona and the three castles and last but not least – the Valli – the valleys of Ticino where time has stood still for 100 years.

#9 Dorset

Dorset in the South West of England has some amazing coastlines to offer. The coast is called the “Jurassic Coast” because of the many fossils one can still find in the rugged beaches and cliffs. Many photo opportunities are waiting for you like the spectacular arch “Durdle Door”, the old castle ruin Corfe Castle, a charming seaside resort Lyme Regis with the famous “Cobb” and the typical Dorset village of Abbotsbury with spectacular views over Chesil Beach and so much more.
