@ Fairy tale Frozen *

Waking up to find a wonderful white world around you is one thing, as snow can be beautiful.

Finding nature covered by a thick layer of ice, that’s truly something else…!

This was such a stunning sight, it felt like I was walking in a fairy tale where all of nature’s beauty was preserved in glass.

=> Natural art, made by Mother Nature at its best!

Some frozen plants even reminded me of the beautiful underwater world, only Nemo wasn’t around (luckily for him!).

– Please Do ZOOM IN @ the pictures, to see many more lovely icy details!

– I have added some feet, hands & faces to get some PERSPECTIVE of the ice’s thickness.

• Background info:

It was already snowy the whole week(s) @ Romania’s capital city Bucharest.

The 25th of January 2019, the day before I took these pictures, it was very windy & therefore extra cold. It rained on & off, meanwhile it was also below zero… so this was the lovely arty icy result!

I could already see a part of this spectacle safely & warm from the inside of the apartment, I couldn’t stop looking at those beautiful “silver & shiny decorated” trees..!

Unfortunately I couldn’t catch it properly on camera because of the distance & wind.

Luckily the next day the wind was gone & it was actually not even that cold this time, from +1 that felt like -2 degrees, to just +1. While in the morning it felt like -5 degrees.

• Sad side notes:

– These (sometimes pretty extreme) cold temperatures make life also even harder for homeless animals, as sadly there are many stray animals at Romania. Therefore I try to help out at Semper Fidelis Domus dog shelter (http://sfdshelterdogs4adoption.com/). I also pet sit and the income of it I donate in 10 kilo bags of dry food :)

– Unfortunately the ice is very heavy and many branches break off the trees..! I hope all the plants etc will survive all the ice. I know some frogs can survive being frozen… but that’s something else ;)

A local replied to me all the ice is not normal and is a consequence of how we destroy the environment. I didn’t realise it’s not normal @ Romania, as I’ve been told it can be -20 degrees here yearly… and now it’s actually not too cold.

It might be bad, but still beautiful to be honest…❣ Sorry 😇

I do hope nature recovers soon & plants & animals will all survive 🍀💖
