Kuli, the one-eyed cat, has been surfing with his owners Alexandra Gomez and Krista Littleton for over a year in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was only 6 months old when he began riding waves.
Kuli, whose name means “to look blind,” is fine with water, probably because his owners used to bath him when he was recovering from eye surgery. The kitty was rescued from the streets when he was tiny and malnourished, weighing only one pound.
“His first time in the water, we just let him float on the board by himself near the shoreline and I would paddle around with him,” Ms Gomez told dailymail. “Before we knew it we were looking for waves to surf.” The kitty is safe and sound, he wears a life jacket when needed!

“So we bought a board that Kuli would be able to get out on the surf with”
The kitty was rescued from the streets when he was tiny and malnourished, his left eye had to be removed due to infection
He was named Kuli because it means “to look blind”
“Before he could swim confidently on his own, Kuli always wore a life jacket”
“He still wears it from time to time depending on the conditions – but we are careful not to take him out if it is too windy or the water is too rough”

Share on FacebookHe's a Turkish Van, which are a breed of cats that actually take to the water like fish. He's not tolerant because of bathing--it's in his blood. Even so, he's super adorable, and I'm glad the troubles in kitten-hood didn't diminish his spirit one bit. :)
Aren't Turkish Vans all-white in the body with colors only on head & tail?
Load More Replies...Some cats just love water. My cat jumps into a paddling pool when she gets hot and just sits there in bliss.
No sure the cat is fine with that... émoticône unsure The humans are happy to have their cat with them, but the cat... his ears are down, you can see him meow on the video and he doesn't look happy to go to the water, he swims toward the beach. He surely is cold when wet, salt is itchy for skin and eye... I'm sure that a dog would love that, dogs are playfull, they love to be with their humans and water. Here I just see a cat not so happy or reassured (look how he hooks on the woman), even if he's not in danger. According to comments, he lives "a dream life"... but for humans ! Not for a cat !
That moment when you realise that a cat swims better than me, and surfs like a boss while Im scared of surfing...What an amazing kitty!
Terrible, CRUEL treatment of this poor cat who SAYS he 'enjoys' it?? Disgusting :(
He's gorgeous and is missing the same eye as my 8yr old boy Munch :)
Hi, this is Kuli's foster mom. I fostered Kuli' and a couple other of his siblings when they were given to me by a friend that has a cat farm and found them in desperate need of love and attention. I got him healthy and had his eye removed due to it's condition and infection (I have pictures and bills to prove it). I foster cats and kittens and spend whatever money necessary to heal them. He was actually the third kitty I had that needed eye surgery that ended up with only one eye. I think what the women have done with him is wonderful and I knew when Alexandra came to adopt him it was meant to be because she already had his name picked out and it just so happened he was rescued from Nanakuli. We knew it was fate. I'm so proud of him and all of the other cats/kittens that are having a wonderful life because of people like Alexandra that adopt these rescues and truly give them their forever family, full of love and fun.
I think it's outstanding & very touching at the same time I loved it!
When i was a kid, we had a cat that was raised by a dog groomer, who bathed him every day when he was a kitten. A huge, white, long-haired fluffy cat named Burgie. If your door was open when you were taking a bath, he would jump into the water with you. So yes, some cats do like water.
Does he rly like it?Like would he start moaning if his owners stopped taking him out for surfing..its impossible for a cat to like water idk
