“Pūkainis Shop” is a Latvian brand that gives people a chance to diversify the ways they support homeless animals by purchasing clothes, accessories and other goods with Latvian-made designs.
We’re soon about to experience the coldest months of the year, and for animal protection organisations and shelters it means seeing more and more homeless cats and dogs on the streets.
Anastasija Jahova, the owner of “Pūkainis Shop” tells her experience: “Every year, animal protection organizations receive countless letters, messages, calls and emails with the same question “What can I do to help these animals?”
Many devote their time physically, in-person by fostering the animals and helping to take care of them. Others, who just cannot find the time choose to donate financial resources to charity.”
With her colleague Irina Zaiceva, Anastasija decided that it would be lovely to also give back to the community, and so they opened the online store “Pūkainis Shop” where people can purchase beautiful and sustainable products. “Pūkainis Shop” donates a percentage of the purchase to Latvian animal shelters and other animal organizations.
The brand releases products for both adults and children.
As of now, their online store is on Etsy, but soon they will unveil their own website.
The brand is closely linked to the “Pūkainis.lv” organization that has, for the past six years, helped homeless animals find their forever families.
