Stranger Things Parody Painting

After binging Stranger Things 2 in 2017, I had an idea to paint a parody painting referencing one of René Magritte’s masterpieces, “Son of Man”. The image just popped in my head and I was so excited to get started that I pretended like my other projects didn’t exist.
The starting point was the green apple floating in front of René’s face in his portrait . Instead, I painted Eleven with a waffle suspended in front of her face in the same setting. Then of course I had to paint the vines creeping up the wall, and creepy clouds that nod to the Shadow Monster.
I absolutely loved painting it, and am happy to pay homage to such an entertaining and well done show. Cheers to Stranger Things 3!
