These little cute houses were built about 50 years ago. It was a whole district. People stayed there for the summers to grow all kinds of vegetables and just relax. Now some of the cottages are renovated for families to live there all year long whereas the others are still habitated by the same people.

I am not sure why I like these types of posts. Thank you so much for sharing them. I think it is because I enjoy seeing how things were built in the past. I also like seeing how other countries structures differ from my own country. It is neat to see things like the large sloping roof to the ground. I imagine reasons why they are like that and it is very fun. I also think for some reason documenting things like this will be very useful in the future. Not sure for what, but I am sure someone will be thankful that these exist.

Thanks! Yes, that's Niva and yes, datchas. Usually people lived in the city in khrushchyovkas (named after Nikita Khrushchev) and spent summers in datchas. My grandpatents still do this, for example.
