There is a saying, “that art mimics reality” but it seems not to be the case with these series of 2D artworks , most of which would make you question whether they are real or not.

Guatemalan visual artist, Joshua Vides, paints on ordinary objects with his pens, from fire hydrants, shoes, safety cones and basketball hoops to guitars to make them unreal. Joshua colors them in black and white to look “cartoonish’ and unique from the natural surrounding.

He has worked with big brands like Nike,Puma and DC shoes, and he holds regular exhibitions at his studios in LA (Melrose) USA to show off a variety of products with proceeds going to charities in Guatemala.
