I built some friends out of end-of-life Apple computer equipment, and created a comic book to document their adventures. Please take a look at my blog post on the project here: http://macmd.com/blog/?p=2207. There are currently 9 episodes of the comic with more on the way.

I’ve been an Apple consultant for over 30 years, and have amassed quite a large collection of dead/dying Apple products. I love up-cycling them to make something new, and during the quarantine, I needed a couple of friends. These guys took about a week to plan out, and get all the pieces to work together. I tried to only use Apple products in the build when possible.

Love Bored Panda…especially now during lockdown. Please let me know if you think my project could join the Bored Panda family! I’d be happy to give any more info if needed. Take care and stay safe!

(Right now I have not submitted this project to any other website other than my own blog.)

This is M8. It’s short for M8535, which is the model number of the iMac computers I used to build him.

This is M8’s sidekick and buddy Rivvit. Also built from iMac parts as well as some old Airport base stations and hard drive parts.

I used magnets in M8’s head so we can change his mouth and move the eyes and eyebrows to make him more expressive.

Hands and arms can also move so he is posable.
