Korean Illustrator Captures The Beauty Of Falling In Love So Well You Can Almost Feel It
4.3Mviews
Different people show their true love in different ways. Some express their affection through touches, others through words, and some through actions.
Hyocheon Jeong is an amazing artist from South Korea, whose beautiful drawings are taking the hearts of Instagram users. She draws cozy, intimate moments of cute couples' lives - from walks in the park, to dinners and naps.
The 27-year-old artist uses colors to express the mood of falling in love, and it varies from pastel tones to bright and loud shades. Most of the time, there are only two people in these cute drawings, as if they were the only souls in this world, but from time to time, the artist adds a cat as a cute companion of the couple's life.
"The sources of my drawing ideas are always stories of people. Most of them are the stories of my boyfriend and me. I also get my ideas from the conversation with my friends." - the artist told Bored Panda.
Take a look at these beautiful love drawings and vote for the ones that you find the most romantic.

people are gushing about the romance and deep love. Me, I am mesmerised by how beautiful these illustrations are. "Sleeping in arms" beautiful play on light peaking through cracks. "Strolling around...." amazing use of perspective and reflection.like sneak peek of romance.
Same here. Me, I actually find the romance in most of these cheesy or stereotypic, but I like the pictures because they're technically well done.
To John. Indeed Asians draw so many "western looking" characters, but really in most cases it's the western audiences that fail to recognise the Asian features within the character design. Because, afterall, we're really not that different. Also, people are heavily influenced by Hollywood, so that might be a reason too, but it also depends on the genre and the story itself. For example, if the story takes place in medieval Europe, characters are gonna look like medieval Europeans. If it's a total d&d style adventure cartoon, characters will be mixed, of all kinds and races, even if humanised animals. As for the cases where there really is no reason to draw "foreigners", that's a bit like when a musical band from a non-English speaking country sings in English.
I wonder why so many Asians tend to draw western characters, instead of their own Asian characteristics? Daria, you live there now, and perhaps it may be worth your while to find out. When I was station in Korea, I never saw this back then.
To Royal. Sure it is an unconventional style, but I did study art (although not in an art school, but almost, long story). And I've seen literally tons of Japanese and Korean comics, cartoons and films, and I'm in Korea now. I didn't passively just watch, I observed the details in character design too, since drawing is my field too. You learn to recognise the Asian features, really. Sailor moon has big eyes and she's blond - easy to point fingers on a "western character". But her lower eye lids are flat and she wears a Japanese school uniform. As for her blond hair, it really doesn't mean anything because Sailor Mercury has naturally blue hair and Chibi Moon pink. It was just an example. It all means your simple explanation is valid, sure, but there is much more to the "manga style" than just cuteness.
To Daris, your answer seems valid from a logical and social point of view, but there might be a simpler explanation. Maybe it is just a form of art like manga . Picasso or Salvador Dali made unconventional art, these may be something like that, although i am not completely sure.
Why are women always portrayed as being shorter? There's not one couple here where the woman is taller than her partner.
Because people tend to like short women better. Which is a shame because I am 5 foot 10
what shame? so you are 5 foot 10, so what? it's awesome. maybe someday someone will draw a love story where the woman is tall, maybe someday you will draw it and it would be just as romantic and AWESOME.
They like women who are shorter than they are because men are supposed to be tall. It's stupid. Your height is excellent! There are so many women who want to be tall and there are plenty of men who like taller women...and in Denmark, there are tons of tall men
That's not tall. Gwendoline Christie is 6' 3" and married.
And vice versa - people tend to like taller guys better. Although in Korea, they seem to prefer taller people in general, regardless of gender. That doesn't mean we have it easier there, though.
SB, let me get a little technical here, because there is a biological/genetic reason why men tend to be taller, and women look more favorable on taller males. Early humans(hominids) were hunter/gatherers, and the males did the hunting, while the women had children and did the gathering. Being hunters, males need longer legs because they need to run faster and be able to do "persistence hunting". Women don't need that to be mothers and gather fruits. Consequently, we don't actively think this, but women prefer taller males because they make the best hunters. All of this is because of Natural Selection, and it is in our genes. My guess is that your family are all tall, and your siblings are taller than you. Sorry for the technical part, but that is the reason why. Seriously.
Come to me darling.
She states that the majority of her illustrations are inspired by her and her boyfriend (so she is probably shorter than him).
Now that's a perfectly acceptable reason.

I think it's because of the "general" idea people tend to get when they think about a relationship in general ...? Stereotypical, yes ... old fashioned as well. You know the man is always taller, older, the provider/main bread winner, the protector, etc ... I'm sure we all have our own versions of what the "perfect relationship looks like" I know this was annoying you enough to write about it, but you're sweating the small stuff. Other than the height of the subjects portrayed in the illustrations, what did you think? They are quite incredible, yes? After all, it is an illustration which is based solely on the illustrators vision/ideas/opinion/etc .. why not do your own? If you can't draw, sit down with someone who can perhaps? I'm just trying to turn a negative into a positive. I hope I didn't offend you, or anyone else for that matter.
Because women tend to be shorter. People are more likely to draw what they're use to seeing.
Because taller guys are hotter, that's why
I am impressed you're willing to share your perfunctory tastes to the world.
Jim, there's a reason why, and it has to do with natural selection. You really don't know why?
Because men used to be giraffes and had to reach the leaves in tall trees?
What does natural selection have to do with art?
Okay, it's 2:30 after midnight here, and these drawings are so calm and warm they actually made me want to sleep.
And I miss my boyfriend who is far away. But it's cool, we've shared such lovely moments whenever we are together. Awww I love love
