The Rockland Arts Festival is excited to announce that despite the cancellation of their in-person event due to the COVID-19 crisis, the arts festival will be hosted virtually from April 1 – 30, 2021.

 

The Rockland Arts Festival website, www. RocklandArtsFestival.org, has been updated to include listings to over 100+ visual artists giving viewers the unique opportunity to enjoy artwork ranging from ceramics to sculpture to watercolor from the comfort and safety of their homes.

 

Each Sunday and Monday at 7:00pm during April, there will be a live-streaming arts event hosted on the Rockland Arts Festival‘s Facebook page. The free online arts events will include live music concerts, ballet performances, gallery tours, panel discussions and art demonstrations. The festival finale will be held on Thursday, April 29th at 7:00pm with a panel discussion with documentary filmmaker, Joe Allen, writer and activist, Bill Batson and Arts Council of Rockland executive director, Cheryl Baun. The calendar of online events is on the festival’s website and attendance is free to the public.

 

The Rockland Arts Festival hopes to bring the quality and diversity of the local arts to the community during in these difficult times. “We also hope that this effort will provide some needed support to our exhibiting artists, who are facing many event cancellations due to the COVID-19 crisis,” said Michael Craft, festival co-coordinator.

 

The Rockland Arts Festival is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by ArtsWestchester. The festival has been coordinated by PFLAG Rockland, Lisa D’Amico, Michael Craft and Aviva Sakolsky.
