Resisting The Patriarchy, Its Time We Come Together

I dont know about you but I recall surviving and resisting the trump presidency. We activists banded together and created networks of raising awareness and money for advocacy donating to various groups. We bombarded social media with a moveon.org and social media takeover of resistance art. We had and took part in protests in communites and cities we created safe spaces for people to be and feel cared for and to show we all committed to care and protect one another through this hard work.

and it worked.

we did it. Together.

But like the waves of the water and the blue tide that came ,we watched it wash away our orange dictator and now scotus washed away our bodily autonomy, and is trying to flood out years of rights for our neighbors and friends , family and community members.

We watched democracy lose its way and within that democracy we saw division. The pandemic did not help either.

Yet I am looking around at this change in activism and society and the division amongst our side. And this is why we are here.

The division among those on the same side. These subsections of micromanaging how we protest when we are all protesting for the same freedoms.

Reproductive rights for all. Bodily autonomy.

The inclusion of verbiage is essential. Inclusion is what we are fighting for in our fight for reproductive rights.

The inclusion is important do not misunderstand me and what I am saying.

When it becomes about the same side telling everyone how they are not advocating the right way or the way that the person telling them wants them too ,we lose sight of whats important.

Reproductive rights for all.

Its time to band together because I assure you the right wing conservatives are and that’s why we are here. minus a corrupt government.

Let some of that monitoring in the ‘Im smarter and know better” go. Youre deterring from the real activism that needs to be done.

We all want the same thing. Reproductive rights for ALL.

Its too much bickering amongst ourselves that takes away from doing the real work that needs to be done. Its easy to post , message and comment. But if you’re doing the real work of advocating , sharing information, supporting others during this and raising money , researching where and how to protest, you wouldnt have time to do the social media know it all messaging and commenting.

Thats the easy part.

The conservatives love how divided we have become. They hoped for it. They are watching us . We are watching them. Hopefully ,mostly go to jail and fail. (fingers crossed)

Please do the right thing.

Please educate and share what you know and how to make this more inclusive and less divisive with micromanaging the same side.

We do not want to be second class citizens any longer than we have too. And we should NEVER have had to if our government worked in a true democracy.

We have a lot of work to do . BAND TOGETHER IN RESISTANCE

together we can do this. And we will.
