Ready For A Pineapple Koala Love Story? It’s Ours & It’s True. And I Wish This For You Too! :-)

3

Thank you Covid! The pandemic created circumstances for people that would otherwise never had met. Only to discover for some reason, they fit like koalas. And can surprisingly sleep like that as well.

There is always this one moment in time, where you either decide to commit or let go. “Pineapples!” was what I decided on as a sign to let the universe help me decide. It was mid Winter. But they were everywhere! A guy was holding one (the actual fruit!) in the dancehall of the winter festival we went to. My son suddenly slept with a stuffed pineapple and my (unaware) lover even brought home a pineapple lamp.

As thanks for so much guidance. And just to wallow in the love, I keep a pineapple koala journal of our story. Midjourney AI makes this incredibly fun, although I wish their activity filters were less PG 13. :-)

It snowed when we matched. He had an iglo picture and an amazing sad smile.

We met around christmas or at least, my cardboard christmas tree was still up. He hated it & was not shy to show it.

We dated very casually in the beginning, both still lost in the labyrinth of love.

But every date felt like we build a “private universe” for us two. And we liked it there.

He was “nesting” at the seaside at the time. My absolute happy place.

Slowly, it became harder to get him out of my mind. Which was annoying, because he was still healing and not ready at all for any commitment.

I then broke my back and had to stay in bed for over a month. This could have ended us because we hardly spoke at that time.

But he had the incredible timing to text me when I was still in “party mode”. So I was happy to meet him again.

He had moved house to Antwerp. And we rekindled.

Still dating other people as well. But always coming back to this Private Universe.

& so, a year went by. I went to Aruba. He celibrated in the snow.

We had an incredibly peaceful date in nature soon after. It was misty and rainy. He had a strange jacket on. I later found out he is colorblind.

But after all the closeness of each date, the distance afterwards started to weigh more heavily. When he canceled dates, I got very annoyed. I was unsure what to do.

So when he proposed to drive to a Winter Festival together, I decided this would be a make or break for me.

We never left each others side & are growing closer ever since.

A trip to kroatia sealed the deal.

With a secret SUP session under the stars.

& The lighthouse festival at the sea.

I wished upon a star, our journey together had now truely started.

    And took the emotional leap.

Showed him my childhood seaside hide away.

We learned to scuba dive together.

I bent backwards to see him half a day sooner in Thailand. And had a fantastic time with his kids.

A big fight around his birthday, forced us to choose each other once again. And for real this time.

We had an amazing trip to the UK.

Witnissed the live transportation of the Queen. And had a sunday roast.

And talked for hours on end.

    Went dancing in Amsterdam.

    Camping in his car.

    Golf surfing in Marrakesh.

And started to spent time together not really doing anything.

How I love to see him iron!

He loves to watch me cook.

The balloon is booked, but the trip not made.

I really do have to agree to meet his volleyball friends.

    We made it to Guatemala.

And saw a vulcano erupt (al least we might have seen smoke.)

He took me skiing with his kids so I could learn.

We drove to Winter Tomorrowland again. He brought 3 pineapples. & Every day there were more.

    Next up: Cycling in Beirut.

Hey there, Pandas! My name is Diana (though some prefer to refer to me as Diane, Deanna, and even Liana sometimes), and I am a Community Post Moderator Lead for Bored Panda. As my position title states, I am one of the people (employed Pandas for bamboo) over here who work with the community side of things on this website to ensure all is well, and while at that, I also help various creators and artists get recognition for the incredible work they do by connecting them to a large worldwide audience. Other than that, outside of work, you can find me brewing a nice cup of coffee, making a pizza from scratch, or baking brownies. I also love traveling, concerts, and cats (heavy on that, because I am a cat mom).
