Pure Spirit: My Delivery For Rik Oostenbroek’s Art Challenge
My illustration for the Rik Oostenbroek’s #showyourself challenge.
I spent 10+ hours to make something special for this amazing challenge and artist who I really appreciate.
It might be silly to say this, but this work is one of the best works I’ve ever created (in my opinion) and it inspired me so much to make more illustrations in this complex and detailed style, in the future.
The story behind this work is actually pretty dark, because I’m struggling with my mental health for the last few months and maybe much longer, so 90% of the time while I was drawing this, I listened different podcasts about mental disorders and how to fix the mind.
I’m searching for some light that seems impossible to find in this dimension of my existence, but just working on this piece helped me a lot – it was like some kind of meditative drawing.
I always believed in reincarnation, so this person presents the soul that can’t be destroyed; the energy that is always here and will always be here, so if I get completely lost in this life, the future is here to fix everything.
Please, be kind to people you love and try to recognize their struggling. Don’t leave them alone!
