Finally, snow! That was my thought when it snowed in the Netherlands.
It would also stay for over a week so I was really happy.
In that week I also had my One Day Only Mega Sale so I was hoping that some people would also want to book for a snowsession.
When I was busy registering everything later on the evening of my sale, an image flashed through my minde. In that image I saw a beautiful pregnant woman in the middle of the snow with the sun shining through the trees.
As a photographer I could’nt get the image out of my mind, so I thought to myself, who do I know who would like to do this for me. It took less than 10 seconds before I knew who I wanted to ask for this. I picked up my phone and texted Marissa.
Someone I met 2 years ago when I was pregnent and when I met them for their wedding. Last August was their beautiful day and now she is pregnant.
Within 5 minutes I received a super enthusiastic response. Of course she wanted to do that for me. I made her the happiest pregnant woman in the world at the time. She is crazy about the snow, goes on wintersports every year, but because of the current situation with Covid, that is not possible.
She told me that she always dreamed of being pregnant when there was snow. So we were going to make that dream come true.
Less than 12 hours after we had spoken to each other, we were together outside in the snow. I knew exactly where I wanted to be, as there are a lot of birch trees in my forest. I wanted to make the image that I had in my head in that place.
On the way there, she told me it was the ultimate birthday gift. It turned out to be her birthday a day later. What a coincidence and what a beautiful thing to celebrate in this way.
On the way, of course, I made several photos and once in the right place, the light was perfect, Marissa did a fantastic job and the images became so, so beautiful.
The day after I sent her a photo as a birthday present and I also submitted that photo for an award. And as icing on the cake, I won a bronze award with it
