Trolls Tell Woman She’s ‘Too Ugly’ To Be Posting Pics Of Her Face, She Responds With 3 Selfies

Unfortunately, while her opinions are just as valid as anyone else’s, some people decided to cruelly make fun of her disability after she wrote an op-ed about the president.
Sadly, Melissa has had to endure much of this kind of abuse throughout her career – some people are simply assholes.
Despite the hurtful comments though, she refuses to let the cowardly bullies – hiding behind their fake names and profile pics – get her down. Her response to the latest round of ‘trollgate’ was a clear indication of that.

While it’s easy to despair for the state of humanity and the sheer evil of these people, the horrible comments brought good people out in defense of Melissa and her work. This kind of support, love and basic humanity is what we need in these difficult times, where online bullying culture is getting louder and emboldened by certain high-profile people who encourage it.

I know women who are the cultural idea of 'beautiful' or 'hot' and they struggle with such issues about their appearance. It's crippling for them. They spend every waking moment worrying what others think, constantly doubting themselves. No way could these particular girls take comments like these in stride. What does that tell you? Beauty is within. It's loving yourself, and projecting that beauty out into this ugly world because we so need it. I am so proud of her.

I had never heard of her, before this popped up on my feed, so I haven’t had a chance to read any of her articles. I have no way of knowing whether or not my opinions or views in any way match hers, but I can say that deciding someone is too ugly to deserve being treated with basic decency is deplorable. I do not care what she looks like. All I care about is what is in her heart and soul, which she has shown to anyone that matters is as big and beautiful as the universe. Four days ago, I took my youngest son to a Special Olympics Bowling Tournament as a participant. There were all kinds of disabled adults there of varying degrees of disabilities and birth defects. I did not see an ugly face or deformed body in the whole bunch. My own son only has the mental issues associated with autism and developmental delay. But, you wouldn't know it to look at him as he looks normal as anyone else.

I do not care what she looks like. All I care about is what is in her heart and soul, which she has shown to anyone that matters is as big and beautiful as the universe. Four days ago, I took my youngest son to a Special Olympics Bowling Tournament as a participant. There were all kinds of disabled adults there of varying degrees of disabilities and birth defects. I did not see an ugly face or deformed body in the whole bunch. My own son only has the mental issues associated with autism and developmental delay. But, you wouldn't know it to look at him as he looks normal as anyone else.

We make fun of trump because hes ugly on the inside. She is not (although I have never read anything she has written to know) she's also disabled trump is not. Unless moron is a disability then he is exceedingly disabled then. If he was an average person walking down the street he wouldn't be mocked or at least not mocked fairly. But he's a rich a*****e son of a billionaire who has put his foot in his mouth many times and most are extremely easy to mock. Some harmless lady with a mind of her own unlike the "sheeple" nowadays.

A beautiful person wouldn’t be concerning themself with how this woman looks. I guarantee all of those people are physically / visually ugly. Not just ugly inside but outside too. Otherwise they wouldn’t need to “punch downwards.” Also people say she’s ugly as if they have never seen anyone who isn’t perfect before. Guarantee half of these people have a parent, sibling or friend who looks similar. Just saying. Also she knows she’s not Heidi Klum, people act like it’s gonna hurt her that she doesn’t look like a model. She knows, and has like a thousand other reasons to love herself, and she is free to love how she looks even if they don’t.
This is not a one party issue. I've seen plenty of insults flung from both sides; all uncalled for, most being as hurtful as possible for maximum impact. The whole idea of "this is all Trumps fault" is false. It's society's fault. There are plenty of Hillary supporters just as nasty, even Bernie has some supporters that dig low. At some point people will have to stop blaming everyone else (including one man), and start being responsible for their own actions.

It's ironic to insult these trolls in her defense by smearing all conservatives because of the ugly names they called her pertaining to her appearance, and there is no question the comments were ugly. But their politics have no more to do with their ugly behavior than her looks have to do with her writing. So if you are defending the lack of equation in her situation, which I agree with, by the way, it's a little bit hypocritical to use the same tactics about another strawman issue to attack the trolls. Ugly is as ugly does. It has nothing to do with a person's appearance or their politics or what color their eyes are or where they are from. Behavior speaks for itself and bad manners are beyond politics.
