You've probably seen those Do It Yourself projects that turned out horribly wrong. Sure they are fun to laugh at, but what about those crafty pandas that are actually good at making stuff? Great DIY projects should be appreciated too, so if you made a cool thing with your own two hands go ahead and share it with us! The best ones will be featured later in a separate post that will be shared on our Facebook pages, so give yourself the chance to show the Internet how crafty you are!

Bravo!!! the dynamic enjoyment of your fantastic, one of a kind piece de resistance must be spectacular. hope that you may feel a well earned sense of pride of accomplishment & find pure joy in having created and extending more beauty unto a world, which often ugly & destructive.

The bowl is that green thing. It's a oxygen cylinder that's past its hydro date. I cut the bottom 1/3 off, cleaned & sealed...that's his food bowl. Cat and dog share a water bowl.

Way more complicated than just putting the cat's bowl in a cat tree the dog can't fit into (which i did to keep my lazy fat a*s boy kitty from eating my girl kitty's food). Cool, though.

No, we put decorative stones in to stop her. Mainly she just tries to balance on the planter :)

It's Not The Best... But I Made It Completely By Myself And I'm Really Proud Of It! My Favorite Place At Home

It's Not The Best... But I Made It Completely By Myself And I'm Really Proud Of It! My Favorite Place At Home

I've always wanted a nice place to chill on the balcony but I couldn't find the right furniture for it. I wanted it to be wide and long enough to be comfortable, high enough to enjoy the view, and with the possibility to store some things inside. After weeks of looking, I decided that it would be the best just to make it myself. On the second day I broke my electrical screwdriver so the process became much more difficult since I had to do everything with my own hands, but after three weeks or so I had it! Never again, though :D

    Community Member
7 years ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

Pure knitting time must have been a bit more than 250 hours - actually quite some more because on the way I had made some mistakes that had to be corrected. Plus the time spent on preparing the design (based on motifs by http://www.creawelten.de), figuring out appropriate yarn and needle size, weaving in ends, stretch-drying after first washing... So, altogether I spent about 300 hours working on this blanket.

Right now I mainly do them as gifts for family. Most people don't realize the time and materials involved and don't want to pay much for them. I mainly sell ruffle scarfs, Hats (bun hats etc) and baby sets :) they are easy to make and people are willing to pay for them (usually around $20 for those)

These are the types of local art that I think is very undervalued unless a gallery owner helps display it. You must work very hard for these to look so effortlessly beautiful.

I don't care who you are, if your man took the time to MAKE you roses, you should consider yourself one lucky lady. (Unless he's just trying to kiss up...lol.) An extra comment by the creator: The tassels (on halberd) from a Christmas sale and wooden pole from a discarded broom. Belt and bracers are made from leather scraps. The arrow (in the shield) was made from a flowerstick and a found feather, while the shield itself from the cardboard box for an old school computer monitor. (That's a solid box!) The cape was a tablecloth on sale and the chainmail was scraps of curtain dyed grey. The helmet, shoulders and greaves were sculpted in paper mache over balloons. Sword built over a frame of wooden splinters and finally the quirass sculpted in paper mache over (far too many) plastic wrapped pillows. All paper mache was made from 80% phonebook and 20% newspaper and similar, turning it as hard as thick plywood. It was fun to make and lasted for more than 15 years!

PS - It was custom-designed for two extra purposes: One, I could rive my car while wearing it - if not the helmet. Two: I could visit the restroom without taking it off! Ah, the comforts of adulthood, no? :)
