Palm Oil Death In Every Drop

My name is Charlotte Phillips, I love animals and raising awareness about the horrible things people do to them. I recently gave a speech about Palm oil and wish to share it with you.

I’m sure when someone says “cute” people often think about their crushes or stuffed animals or something but most people think of their pets, or other animals. Animals often don’t matter a great deal to people because they think they are inferior or some rubbish like that. But in fact they are not, just because they don’t have iphones doesn’t mean we shouldn’t care about them. Lots of you are probably thinking what on earth are you talking about I love animals! But do you? Do you really. Who here eats or has eaten Ben & Jerry’s, McDonald’s, Cheez-it’s, Dr. Pepper, Kellogg’s, Nutella, Oreo’s, 7UP, Pop Tarts!

all of these products and many more contain Palm oil, Most of you are probably wondering what is Palm oil? Is it a hand lotion? No, palm oil can be in lotions but, palm oil is actually an oil from the fruit of palm trees, to get the oil they have to build factories to change the palm trees fruit into oil, to make these plants they chop down millions of palm trees! And when they get the fruit for the oil they have to practically hack the trees to death as the fruit is in the very center surrounded by branches.

Most palm oil comes from burning orangutans out of their homes and poisoning elephants in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. Palm Oil is responsible for thousands of kilometers of pristine rainforest that is slashed and burned in order to make way for palm oil plantations. Many orangutans and other animals are killed in the process, for the production of palm oil used in many of our everyday foods and products.

This large-scale deforestation is pushing orangutans to extinction, along with many other native species of Borneo and Sumatra. With nowhere to live the animals that survive just die of starvation. A few animals that die in the making of products that people seem to love more than the miracle of life are Sumatran Tiger Sumatran and Bornean Orangutan Bornean Pygmy Elephant Sumatran Rhinoceros Malayan Sun Bear All of these beautiful animals are dying because of our craving for nutella and poptarts, and I know that you think you cannot live without these snack foods, but there are other options

Instead of buying Nutella my family has Nocciolata which tastes just as good and is actually substantially better for you then Nutella and there’s better quality ice cream then ben and jerry’s, So I want you the next time you walk into a grocery store, take a moment to think about the fact that 50 percent of the items you see contain palm oil, I want you to think about how you’re surrounded by dead monkeys, elephants, and tigers. Do you want to eat a graveyard?

You have to look at the label people! If you glance at it and see no palm oil listed you shouldn’t just chuck it down your throat, like sugar it can go incognito under another name, for example,

So you could either read the label and save lives, or chug Dr. Pepper and become a murderer.
