These paintings are about making sense of chaos. I made them by starting with a random background (made either with drips or marbling) and then treating the patterns as outlines to create 3d shapes. Sometimes figures emerge, sometimes they don’t. In a world of terror attacks, financial crisis and natural disasters its quite comforting and liberating to go with the flow of the paint.
