When Sombra was introduced as hero on Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch, she quickly became one of my favorite characters to play.
On a train ride from Berlin to Düsseldorf, I decide to whip out my skectch book and begin drawing. The idea to illustrate Sombra quickly came into my mind. Of course I decided to base the illustration on her Los Muertos legendary skin!
I then shared the illustration on my Instagram feed and it became an instant success! A few weeks later I decided that it would be interesting to take the illustration of Sombra and turn her into a vector graphic using Adobe Illustrator and my Wacom Cintiq Companion 2.
Overall the idea was to create something that could be marketed to a younger audience and give her a style that you might see in an aimated series like Young Justice. I wanted to keep the colors vibrant and colorful.
Blizzard Entertainment is one of the companies that I dream about working for! Who knows, maybe one day I will work in the Marketing and PR department or even with their eSports teams!
