Muslim Teen Asks Dad If She Could Remove Her Hijab, And His Response Is Brilliant
3.6Mviews
17-year-old Lamyaa from Pennsylvania was recently engaged in a group chat with friends. When everybody started discussing Donald Trump, Lamyaa, who is an Arab Muslim Woman, contributed to the discussion with her own strong views about the president. Realizing that the teen girl was a Muslim, a mutual friend in the group chat, whom she didn’t know, responded to her comments in the only way that idiots know how.
“Stop defending Islam, Bitch shut up. You couldn’t take that face cover off, or your dad would beat your ass,” they wrote, prompting the best response ever from Lamyaa. Because instead of letting the insult slide, or responding to the stranger in a similarly rude people’s manner, the brave girl decided to ask her dad, who lives in Saudi Arabia, if it was ok for her to remove her hijab. What did he say? See for yourself below. She shared his answer on Twitter and it’s since gone viral with over 320k likes 147k shares.

17-year-old Lamyaa is an Arab Muslim woman from Pennsylvania
She was recently having a group chat with friends when somebody she didn’t know insulted her
Lamyaa decided to ask her father if it was OK to take off her hijab, and his response couldn’t have been better
Many people were quick to stand behind Lamyaa and her father
And Lamyaa was also keen to let people know that she had no intention of actually taking her hijab off
Other people had different views however
And so Lamyaa decided to clarify things a little
“Your dad is so sweet!” wrote one person, and we have to agree

Dry up Wijgerink.
Well, she says she wears it for god... but as far as I know, it is nowhere mentioned in the Koran that women have to wear it... if her dad doesn't care if she wears it or not is nice for her, but a large amount of women are forced from society to wear it. So, completely useless panda post :-(
She is not wearing it for ANYONE because she's required to, not even for God. She wears it out of reverence and respect for herself, for her religion, and her God. Some Christian and Jewish women wear head coverings out of respect and reverence, Islam is no different. It is no different then some women wearing skirts to church out of respect, or some men not shaving their beards, or men taking off their hats when they enter a church. No one is forcing them, their holy book doesn't demand it, they do it by choice out of respect.
Some women feel more confident wearing a hijab as men don't lear at them or look at them i can understand this xx
Where does her religion ask her to wear it, , as the only holy bookmentioning Hijab is the bible and then it is ment modest clothing for both men and women. SO i ask again, probably for time 1 million. What is the religious speification behidn the hijab, nikab and Burka. All dresses for women, injected by Komani in Iran and not in any religious text before that. Please give me a good answer!
It is and it is not. The Koran does not apparently require it, but the culture in some parts of the world does and it is attributed by those enforcing the rules as being a requirement from God to do so with them punishing those who do not.
The Jews have 613 commandments (laws) about how they should dress and other things as part of their holy books (Torah) we had to learn them all and follow them... so, no many of the religions have laws about head coverings that must be followed.
Asking sincerely, as I know the net can be tone deaf. What does that mean, really: respect and reverence?
I'm a pagan. I cover my head because it's comfortable for me. I didn't when I was a Christian. I don't have to, but I LIKE to. And going without DOES feel naked. So...empathy over here - dude wears a ballcap all day long and no one goes "you're a SLAVE to that hat!", but if a girl does it... "OMG, THAT MUST BE OPPRESSION, EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO CULTURAL REQUIREMENTS TO WEAR IT". And yes - I HAVE been questioned by someone (my dentist of all things) if my hair covering had meaning. Shit son, I just want to have my head covered. Get out.

"She is not wearing it for ANYONE because she's required to, not even for God. She wears it out of reverence and respect for herself, for her religion, and her God." So she doesn't wear it for herself after all! What a stupid statement.. Let's create another ridiculous religion with many frivolous things to do to honour the god you want to honour, the possibilities are boundless.. we can all run around naked, eat our own shit, rob banks and steal cars, cut our hairs off and eat them, too, wrap ourself in plastic-bags or draw penises in our faces to honour a god we ceate in our heads. Sounds silly? This is, what religion is!
The Koran does mention to cover up. it is in Sura Nisa. Have a look
Women wear hijabs to symbolize modesty. They also wear it so when someone looks at them, they can't see their hair and some of their face, and they (women who wear a hijab) are valued for their intelligence, not their looks. While the Qur'an doesn't say anything, it mentions modesty and respect for yourself and your body A LOT. Hey, downvote me all you want, I'm just providing fact.
Excuse me. Read Surah An-Nisaa in AlQuran, if you please. thank you.
I don't think she said it did. She said "SHE is. This is So messed up. As long as she Respects this Country and lives by Our Laws. I see no problem. Yes, I Would like to see her take it off. But that is her decision to makeask her father pointed out. So let's don't be Blowing this up into something.
What do you mean you want her to take it off? Why do you have any interest in what someone you don't know wears on their head?
I don't think that you understand how religions, belief-systems, work. Not everything believed and/or practiced in a given creed is written in the text of it's bible. Some things are general, like the importance of modesty. It is then how each culture believes that modesty should be manifested through clothing and/or speech, action... Trying to devalue Lamyaa's post about her father's love by stating that many others don't have experiences that are as positive, is not only irrelevant to her post, which you mocked due to lack of education, but is a very petty and immature thing to tell someone. Just saying. Just an Orthodox Jewish Rabbi's opinion.
You don't think her father is part of society, or that his opinion matters to her?
Especially if you consider why she was wearing it to begin with. Her parents clearly started her wearing one, no?
I guess the point of this post is that not every muslim woman is forced to wear hidjab, so you shouldn't assume that like the girl in the chatgroup did
There are a lot of Christian teachings that require or advise women to cover their heads. Some while in church, some at all times. In all paintings and on all statues the Virgin Mary's head is always covered. Most of these teachings are now ignored in the USA. Head covering was required in the Catholic church when I was growing up. Easter Sunday was nice because it was warm after a cold winter and most of the women and girls had new outfits including pretty hats.
no hate but this post was meant to show the racism and stupidity of people nowadays she wasn't trying to represent anybody but was trying to prove that women should be what the want
as far as you know ? well apparently you dont know much, and the little you know is misinformation they shoved you so... save us your opinion lol

it is mentioend i nthe koran thta women should wear it !! & even if it wasn't & i knew for fact that the prophet said so i'd also belive him because he is the messenger of allah . . AND it is also mentioned in the bible that women should wear scarf /hijab !! as mary (mother of jesus peace be upon him) did because she wore it !! & it is also mentioned in the bible that women should wear it or else they have to shave thier heads HOWEVER islam complets the religions that came befor so women don't have to shave thier heads if they don't wear hijab . . . they take full responsibility of what to do with thierselves . . .if they chose to disobey allah . .allah is the only one with the ability to judge them
I "only" like your last sentence "allah is the only one with the ability to judge them"
I hate when people quote the bible out of context. Women would not have to shave their head if they showed their head silly. Read the context and you will see why men (not God) considered it disrespectful to not cover your hair becuase of the Hebrew custom in the Mosaic Law... please do not botch the quoting of God in the Bible. The Koran does mention it but the bible (and God) could care less if women show their hair.
Outdated and sexist. It's 2017, we are better than this. Don't do what the bible tells you.. you wouldn't if you knew who wrote it
"A man not ought to cover his head since he is the image and glory of god; but the woman is the glory of man... "
"... for men did not come from woman, but woman from man; for this reason the woman ought to have a sign f authority on her head"

Shut the fuck up , and stop talking about things u dont know about pls
A true American knows we have the freedom to worship anyway we choose as long as it does not inflict harm on anyone else, and should defend that right. Religion should be a personal relationship between you and the god you believe to be true, not a political status.
The fact that Islamophobia exists still makes me sad...
It isn't islamophobia. Wearing a hijab is not mandatory as per koran, it is cultural but has been hijacked. Therefore if women want to take it off, they should be but people like you help the oppressors by saying it would be islamophobia to tell them otherwise. YOU are stopping progress with your so called open-mindedness [and it is to the detriment of actual freedom for these women].
What I meant was that I interpreted the text from the 'mutual friend' as a form of discrimination against Muslims. The text made me sad.
"YOU are stopping progress with your so called open-mindedness [and it is to the detriment of actual freedom for these women]." And many are free to choose and wear the hijab. Respect the choice.

Bullshit- just - period- bullshit. You can hide behind your idiotic Liberal mindset all you want- when they come knocking on your door because their ridiculous ideology has been allowed on your door step because the fools that refuse to see what is in front of their eyes- then you can make all the love proclamations you want and see what it gets you- oh that's right- you won't! Because you and I and countless others will be dead -. Maybe this girl's family is different- I have my doubts. But the fact remains that the majority of women in Islamic countries are nothing but chattel and your Liberal buddies refuse to see the truth-
I know! People still have a problem with Muslims treating their women like slaves, that is just so fucking intolerant!
Yes it is very sad that we actually belive what the koran say and dont belive the bullshit we are served by the pro islamic people that support a religion that ues acts of terror on a week to week basis now. Maybe we would not be ismaofobic if islam did not kill somany eople hand was not the was majjoty in 57 countries that all has 3 things in ccommon: 1. No democracy. 2. Killing of sinners/none islamic and wrong islamic people. 3. A vioew on woman that we left 150 years ago or more.

The reason we're all "Islamophobic" is because, on a weekly basis, Islams are murdering innocents. So you can go fuck yourself, you liberal.
The point is she did after all end up asking her dad first. She has freedom to wear it or not, because 1. she is not in Suadi Arabia and 2. Her father gives her that freedom. If her father had said no, it would be case closed, if she was living in Saudia Arabia she could not step foot outside without it.
She ended up asking her Dad for evidence, online, for the Islamophobes who were commenting. She had no intention of taking off her hijab, and it's her decision.
That's my point exactly !
I know who I'd be beating if I found out my child is being harassed ;)
The previous reply was incorrect, in reality you would be beating yourself up, then the harasser up, then (if it applies, as in my case, it does) the therapist up. I agree with the article that Cybernetic harassment is ignorant, insensitive, and possibly trolling.
This comment is hidden. Click here to view.
I am guessing, if you are a Muslim and your child is a girl, according to Sharia, you would be beating your daughter.
There is one question here that nobody is asking it: why did she need to ask her dad if it was OK or NOT to take off her hijab ? If wearing the hijab is an option by rule and not the exception, the question itself would be plain stupid. It would be as stupid as if one of my girls would ask for my permission to take of their hat. (and they are only 4 and 6 years old) .
It was to prove a point to the stranger who berated her that her dad would not beat her if she chose to take it off. Living in a country where she is not forced to, she was just trying to say that she wears it for herself, not becuase anyone in her life is pressuring her too. :)
That is due to education. Something that goes against what is usual and standard for someone does depend, on a child's way, from parents' approval. ESPECCIALY when someone else refers so. Now imagine one of your daughters aqquitances is provoquing her to go to school with a miniskirt and no underwear. What would you do if she decided to go, even if just to prove she could? Would you be ok with it? Would you just let her? Would you trust so much on your 6yo sense of right and wrong that you just knew she was only doing that out of a bet? And if so... wasn't that exactly, per se, a sign that she didn't yet had that concept in her? The girl in this story asked her parent because: - she was provoked to do so on a negation-consequence basis and -she respects her dad's authority or opinion. I don't see violence in her dad's answer... do you? So I see no fear in her.
I love hijabs, they are truly beautiful... I am planning to ware a hijab to the upcoming formal
THIS is the EXCEPTION! By and large and of course, mostly in their home countries, if a woman even asked this question she would be horribly punished! There are STILL millions of women living in fear and dying via "honor killings" at the hands of their own family! And dont even get me started on the "female circumcision" that they subject their young girls to! No meds to help, the women hold the young girl down and mutilate her genitalia! Because the men there believe the women should feel pain while having sex! BLECH! I cannot stand the way they treat women!
I also do not support honor killings or FGM. But how do you figure that she is an exception? Where are your facts to back this up?
This comment is hidden. Click here to view.
The facts: Iran before and after 1979.
I think "the way" they treat women is just different from how you like to be treated, but it's still humane, and alot of rights were given to women after islam that didn't exist in the middle east, I don't know based on what did you get your numbers , but i can say also,it is true that in "some" cases you will see some fathers hitting their daughter, but that's not from the teaching of islam, the "majority" of women who wear hijab is because they are convinced and it's out of their free-well after they are raised in the correct way
I don't care whether she wears a hijab or not but the whole thing seems fake to me. A stunt to make herself a martyr...the father's picture also looks way too generic, like it was selected quickly from a random google search :/ The text seems fabricated as well. The daughter's text only says "delivered", yet the father answered it. Shouldn't it be listed as SEEN in this case, as you can see in this article: https://www.boredpanda.com/guy-asks-girl-to-send-him-nudes-girl-sends-best-response-ever/
Each recipient has the option to turn on "Read" receipts on the iPhone. It is actually off by default. I would respond the same as her dad.
I believe you would respond the same way, but that's not the point. The point is the message was probably fabricated to make herself more popular. The father's "response" was so on point, even though he didn't know what the full story behind her statement was. I would've surely started with "what happened or why did you suddenly decide to do it my dear..." and any human being would, cause that is our nature, with sudden change we instantly respond with a question. Anyways, the main reason for me doubting this comes from my dislike of fake, misleading posts and lies for the sake of attention. Sadly nowadays it's easy to become popular or even a hero with a single set of tweet if you write down the right words, while other honest people work their asses off day and night and still get no recognition.
My imessage is weirdly laggy and read receipts don't work properly so your point is invalid
His response was brilliant, indeed. Especially the "Is everything ok, did something happen?" part.
Hijab is the dress code of Sharia, Hijab means submission to Sharia and accepting its supremacy in one's life. The day sharia gives its adherents and non-adherents choices and freedom, it would mean something, other wise, it is all white wash meant to hoodwink the gullibles
She is beautiful
Another made up story. MFI (made for idiots)
As a westerner, and a humanist, I have a very limited perspective on the hijab. I've always thought of it as a way in which men put limitations on women in order to control them. In so many ways, I think of the hijab - and the other garment that is full length and covers all but the eyes - in much the same way I think of the older habits/garb of Roman Catholic Nuns. While some were associated with the traditional garb of women during the time in which the religious order was founded, so much of it was a complete covering over of the woman's body (wrapping of the face, burying the body under bolts of fabric and heavily starched pieces). It leads me to believe that these religious traditions have a blatant distrust of the feminine, covered over in folkways and mores that are designed to "protect women". Underlying that is a conception of men as unable to control themselves at the sight of a woman, and that since men are uncontrollable - women must make the adjustment by hiding.
Her dad is absolutely awesome! That was the best answer he could possibly give her...problems occur in muslim countries not in America...u ignorant people need to put a sock in it...Its a belief n a way of life. We have ours n they have theirs. I don't expect someone to put me down for mine. Stop attacking people for their beliefs. I have an Egyptian Muslim son in law. I love him and his family. Wouldn't ever change that. You ALL need to stop picking apart their beliefs Just grow up!
I say, take it off if you want too. No one should judge you for your own decisions.
not all Muslim women were hijabs/want to were hijads
You go girl!
Please, if you can't even spell "Qur'an" correctly, you shouldn't be commenting on the matter.
Great answer from Dad.
Well i see most people offended that the father seems "fake" . Guess we should worry less abt islamism and ask ourselves why are we so used to bad parenting in our own homes.
Great advice from dad
The important point she's making is that it's her decision to wear it and no one else's. Her father made that clear as well.
I thought hijab was for simplicity the purpose is defeated with all that makeup.
Her poor dad seemed so worried, he really thought something terrible happened to her. She has a very good dad. And I like the purpose of her actions, well done.
To be clear .. what she's calling hijab has nothing to do with islam hijab ... It is just a scarf all around her head.. fashion style hh... And no one can force you to do things you are not willing to do
that's a funny thing about women in this world but lets amplify the situation most Muslims who live in the western world follow their religion which is and i hope by most acceptable, If they choose to wear garments for any reason. Who is any one to say other wise ? as long as what ever any one does and does NOT break any laws why do people have to complain ?
I'm a Christian who believes that my God is Allah--the same God that Muslims believe in. I believe in kneeling when I pray because I should not stand as if I am an equal, but I think that most of this kind of thing is superstition. Both Christianity and Islam ask its followers to believe and do things that are not important at all in the Eyes of the Mighty Allah. Be good, do good, think good and act for the right reasons. He will love you whether you wear or do not wear a hijab. He will love you whether you do or do not eat a cracker and sip some wine. Even if you do wrong, He will love you as He teaches you the painful return lesson of how it felt to be that other person that you yourself once hurt. She can do as she wishes regarding what she wears and why she wears it, and apparently she realizes that, in the end, it is not really a requirement and it should not be.
FINALLY SOMEONE SHOWS THAT NOT ALL MUSLIM FATHERS ARE RADICAL MONSTERS. GREAT DAD.
Some people may be oppressed. And trust me its not a reason to bully Hijabi girls and women. You, yes you are the ones who make us feel more oppressed, not our families , brothers and fathers. You mock us, you force us to take our hijabs off (Yes, in some countries they take hijab off girls forcefully) you try to make us feel that we are less of human beings than you are. And how come after that you even say something about oppression?! Thank God, there are people who are friendly towards Muslims. People who respect and understand their religion.
Good for you! Keep it on, show where you are from, and wear it proudly!
Nothing is more valuable than freedom!
Majority comments here based on people's opinion about Islam, not facts about the religion itself at all. How a person practices Islam personally or how a country rules does not MAKE the religion itself. All the haters of Islam itself (as opposed to the humans purporting to use Islamic "principles" - many times incorrectly) is just plain ignorance and irresponsible. Rather then just accept what You heard on tv or read on news or googled an article full of propaganda take a minute to do some educational research on the principles of islam. Your hatred of the religion does not diminish the religion even an iota. Do not think Islam is Isis, Syria, Iran, or your opinions etc
<3
Ponete a laburar y deja de hinchar con pelotudeces
awsome...love the post
That is real Islam who lets your own decision! In Turkey it is also mostly like that if the person knows Islam really, you will decide what will you do. TV Islam is isis's Islam, not real one.....
ok. you wear it for GOD. however since it's not something you, yourself come up with, since it's pushed by the religion based on the thought that woman hair is SINFUL! therefore by wearing it "voluntarily", you only approve that idea woman being sinful creatures! GET REAL!
That's a whole bunch of babbling nonsense. Do you realize how much of the western culture has been influenced by religion and outdated ideas and customs? Yet we all still do it. Do you go around screaming at everyone doing something based on any outdated idea? Christian and Jewish women sometimes cover their hair depending on the denomination. Women are walked down the aisle at their wedding by their fathers, we say "bless you" when someone sneezes, and on and on. Do you scream and shout at those things too?
Well, nobody is screaming or shouting, at least from my view point. But do I register annoyance at equally silly Christian/Judian ideologies? Yes. Yes, I do. The Bible has a ton of idiotic ideas regarding women. Deuteronomy 22:28-29 For example. If someone followed this, yeah, screaming and shouting are justified.
... ... ...Wait, what?
Thank you. This is how I felt about this whole post. It's great she doesn't "have" to wear it, but that's moot because the whole thing is based on men imposing ideologies on women because they, the men, can't possibly control themselves.
Where did you get that thought? Islam sees women's hair as a sign of beauty and promotes modesty. Not as a sign of sin.
Ok, then why must it be covered?
Brilliant response? OF COURSE it's not his decision. If he said anything else it would suck ass.
that was the very point she was making. people seem to be forgetting that she was responding to some ignorant comment that some asshole made.
Funny thing is she doesn't use it in her profile picture.
Thought the same, but she's using a black hijab that doesn't cover her chin. Just googled her photo and saw it.
That only proves her point...
Well if she uses the hijab whenever she feels like, why would she ask her dad for permission to not use it? And the hijab must cover the chin and the neck.
mwahahahah...789be1.gif
Yesss! One muslim women doesnt speak for all of them! people need to understand this thing.. and coming to our choice yes wear what makes you feel comfortable and as faar as coming to the topic of some women not able to remove hijab becuase of society isnt it the same as some owmen not being able to get education due to society, if you really want to do something you always find a way.
I love long beautiful hair flowing in the wind
I really respect every culture but it is not fair for only women wear hijab. Why men don't wear Hijab??? If it is okay for women to wear it then it should be fine with men too, right?
Well Well said the Rocking Chair .. careless-5...74a84c.jpg
A lot of people confuse Hijab with Burqah. The Hijab is beautiful and should be left to the discretion of the user to wear it or not depending on the countries she resides in.
matters of faith cannot be equated to constitutional matters which may or may not be the same. So maybe in Saudi Arabia it is both faith and constitutional but when people migrate to other countries it is the constitution of that country one should abide and not faith.
Is it just me or does she look like Sofia carson
hijab is personal interest. one can wear it if she want maintain his religious manner.
great to hear
l personally have no problem of Muslim women wearing the Hijab..there are Christian groups that have their women wearing head scarfs and we dont hound them..what l find uncomfortable are the women wearing the full on, face covering burka's..we as a nation of communicators do so by a % of facial expressions..we say one thing but out face will say something else..when you are trying to communicate with someone who's face is totally covered then you may as well be a blind person cause it equates to the same thing..and besides, how can you talk to other people clearly if you are talking through muffling material..??
If she wanted to take off her hijab why did she feel obligated to ask her dad? She's in this country, Dad's in Saudi Arabia, one of the most restrictive countries for women. Apparently the long arm of patriarchal Islam reaches everywhere. Any religious culture that tells women they must wear something to cover their heads is stifling and misogynistic. I don't care if it's Islam, Christianity, Judaism or what.
wow just wow that's an amazing story she is so pretty!
I'd love to have you and your family for neighbors, Lamyaa.
I think we live in a community, a nation which is finally experiencing the repercussions of a lack of common sense, compassion, and plain common sense. We are being drowned by those whose minds are so narrow they could easily slide them through the thinnest of objects, including the eye of a needle. As if The Bible does not in the old testament tells of an entire family being stoned for the crime of one person. Christens are the most narrow-minded, the most prejudice, the most judgmental. When each one of them dies, they will find God did not say, condone, or appreciate them hating and exhibiting while breathing intolerance supposedly on HIS behalf! Going to bust HELL wide open!!! Many have already and continue to do so. There is more than one religion and being a Muslim does not automatically mean a person is bad or a terrorist no more than being a Christen denotes a person is good.
I truly appreciate her and her fathers views. I understand that some may believe that hijabs were just created so men could overpower women but I feel as though it is sexist to say that. It's giving the men control, suggesting that we only wear it for them. This girl, even though she may not live in a country where she is forced to wear it, still chooses to out of her idea of respect for herself, her religion and her culture. I appreciate that she wears it because SHE wants to, no one else. And that's the most important thing. Wear whatever the hell you want as long as it's for yourself and makes you happy. Heck, even wear a collar or a...I don't know, fake bird on your head as long as it's because you want to.
great
👏👏
She's so beautiful.
With tons of makeup and a scarf covering half her face yes...She shouldn't wear makeup if she wishes to wear a hijab...the hijab is supposed to give women modesty. She obviously is a hypocrite who wears the hijab as an accessory. Fake like all those Muslim immigrants...
Pink_glitter Can y'all just take it down a couple hundred notches, k?
Tell me pink_glitter, who hurt you?
I think that this is a mistake God imposed on us in the Koran, how to disobey God is not a charade !!!, If you don't love it for you , love it for God❤
A man should be what he was born to be: free and independent - JFK No matter gender, male or female... must be FREE and independent !
I wish that each would make their self their own concern, and leave others to themselves.I would also say that a god was man's worst creation no matter where or how many its a way to control the mind of many.An education to the highest standard possible should be our species concern for all of our species.Any talk of a being you cant see, hear, touch, smell and has to be in the negative when others are asked to disprove, there has never been proof of any super being creating all that there is as what was before that being? another one? There has never been proof that such a being exists except in the dreams of people, perhaps more of a hope against all that is evil/bad of our species and that some day some place all will be healed.
What is the obsession with staying covered/huddled up in fabric their whole lives?
Many are forced into it and others choose to do it for themselves, their culture or their God. It's like when Christians wear a necklace with a cross on it, it's something that proudfully shows their religion and an expression of who they are. Hope that answers your question! :)
Loads of bullshit!
I just want to have authority and freedom of thought.I want to make decision for my self to have hijab or not.
Political correctness my ass! People are literally becoming zombies of fake justice. And they just love to denounce people with normal ideas. You guys are either hypocrites or completely insane.😂
.
Taqiyya.
beautiful women dont age in that country cause no sunlight. even blessed mother still wears that stuff on her head.
She was conditioned well.
Well, it's great that you have a supportive father who isn't too religious, but that's because he's a good man, not that the religion and all it's rules are stuff everyone does or can ignore.
my family never wanted me to put on the hijab, but I put it, until today, and forever I oppress my family ^^
I bet her dad won't give that answer if they were living in Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia. 'Murica!
The text says that though she lives in Pennsylvania, her dad lives in Saudi Arabia...so, disproved!
She is in a free country they can not stone her for not wearing. He should have said.
What a shitty propaganda. For a fully brainless scum.
The ignorance in this world amazes me, but the ignorance of some of these posts, simply astounds me. Either they failed to read the actual article and conversation therein, or they are just to bigoted to open their minds to her reasoning and stance.
I like to see pretty women wearing pretty hijabs. The hijab accentuates the face. I do not like the burka and don't think they should be allowed in public in the USA. Not only are they ugly, they are disguising. I also like the burkini, especially colorful ones.
Not interesting text...I hate hijab! I hate when other people make decisions about women's clothes!
Take it off in a Muslim country...and the "Good People of Islam" will give you 2 Choices: They'll either 1.Beat You to Death or 2.Stone You to Death! Now doesn't that give you something to "SMILE" about!
i'm a muslim and let be truthful her , we don't follow only the koran we follow also the teaching of muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) all muslim know that all womens should wear hijab however we don't force them to, my wife is not wearing hijab i can't force her this somthing between her and her god but she know and i know that she is making a sin, ya some fathers forced their daughter to wear hijab they feel like it's their duty to show them the right path even with force , but for me i think if a girl weared a hijab not willingly is like she is not wearing it , it loset his purpose so just take it off, if you praying not willingly it won't be accepted from you, hijab it's the same wear it only if you believe in it otherwise you only putting a scarf in your head is not hijab
Come to Texas in the summer time then say you don't want to take it off. One more way to control ya.
She actually chooses to do it for herself, I'm sure if it was hot she would take it off. In many countries people are, very unfortunately, forced into wearing them but she wears it for herself, for her culture and for her God. No one is controlling her to do it but that does happen, which is honestly so tragic.
The Hijab is insulting and demeaning to women whether or not you choose to wear it. This article is an insult to hundreds of thousands of women. On 8 March 1979, more than 100,000 women gathered on the streets of the Iranian capital to protest against the new Islamic government’s compulsory hijab ruling, which meant that women would henceforth be required to wear a headscarf when away from home.
But that's giving them power, saying we only wear it for them (they do in some countries but I'm talking about places where they aren't being pressured or forced into doing so) If people choose to wear it they can, as long as they are not being forced to. It's actually quite rude to tell people that they flat out can't wear them, it's just as bad as telling them they have to. :)
My name I will keep Anonymous because I am currently in a country where Muslim and Cultural believes are strong. I will however; say this: Many people are quick to give an opinion and judge without know about Islam, the Muslim community and or the ideology, except for what is heard in the media, social media or simply plain rumor. There are many facets that go into play, and ideology alone does not make it wrong, it simply makes it different. We in the U.S. have forgotten some of our basic fundamental believes. Back in the old days, religion played an important part of our social believes and values, but like anything else it was not perfect and it overlooked many of todays issues, like race, gender and social acceptance. We need to remember that when we did have religion play a role in our everyday lives in the old days, there was less violence, less corruption and more aptitude to be able to work issues out. Nonetheless, we are different, think before you speak.
I don't believe this story is true. Dad's text seems fake.
You mean, because it's the response of a caring father?
Exactly, way too perfect...like cheesy movie script perfect...
My dad would've responded the same way to my sisters. I would like to think I would respond the same way if my daughter asked this.
I hope this is true because Islam has a horrible history of woman's rights. They need to update to Islam 2.0 or stay in the past.
She lies. No muslim male is that endearingly affectionate to ANY female. Not even his mother...so, she lies.
She lies. No muslim man is that endearingly affectionate to ANY female, not even his mother. So, she lies.
"A lot of people mistook this tweet as me saying no woman are forced to wear hijab. I just wanted to say that that was not the point of the tweet" Than what the fuck was the point of tweet
Try reading it again then maybe you'll get the point of the tweet.

What the fuck is wrong with you? And yeah I might sound like a child for swearing and stuff but what kind of sick minded person do you have to be to say something like that. How would you like it if someone rudely spoke something that had to do with your belief or something that represented you. Then to later get a stupid death note saying "I hope your family in America dies".

This comment is hidden. Click here to view.
