This is a letter I wrote to my daughter.

My daughter! Maybe we are not unlucky when the complicated covid-19 situation happened, falling on the summer vacation of my children and young children who are at a school age.

In addition to the worry that work will be greatly affected by the epidemic, the pressure when the child is just hanging around at home or it has to stabilize psychologically and physically the child during the epidemic season is a great challenge for your mother.

Implementing the message “stay at home is patriotic” sounds difficult. But, when the mother’s love for the child is big enough, every obstacle on the journey with my children who are growing up during the epidemic season becomes unimportant.

I had an active, frank, and analytical conversation with you about this dangerous disease and your important role in being conscious of keeping yourself healthy.

While we grumble because of our travel restrictions and social distancing, not being able to go to the amusement park, not eating enough as usual, how many doctors and nurses are out there sacrificing their lives to save lives. You seem to understand and respond to me and everyone to fight the epidemic, my child does not ask to go out and ask for anything. You said you miss your teacher, you miss your classmates so much, Mom! But do your best, baby, I’ll try to make you at home as happy as possible! Your mother has planned a day schedule including the time to study, work, rest and play in a reasonable way. I promise to take the time to talk and share with you. I will play games, do family activities and exercise, clean the house, or cook together with you… I know, you love your parents very much! You are the most understanding girl, every time your mother is tired, You run to hug me and say: “I love you!”, you feel curious and excited when I see your mother cook and you run out to ask for help.

When looking at you, a whole bunch of childhood memories came back. When I was a child, I was used to playing family games with the children in the neighborhood, using cans to make pots, making bricks for the kitchen and weeding the grass, wild vegetables for food, and cooking like real food. At that time, I wished I had a real cooking set, but it was so difficult!

Maybe mom will let me fulfill my “unfinished dream”!

It’s learning to cook with kitchen toys. That’s the small size cooking toys and kitchen-like everyday things that have been ordered by your mother.

A set of cooking toys will be very suitable for children to both observe, memorize the names of each type of tool, and have the opportunity to imitate your mother’s cooking.

You are very excited and interested, you said that while playing, you will practice cooking delicious dishes, later when you grow up, you will cook for my whole family to eat!

Daughter! Definitely know how to cook! Cooking not only brings happiness to the family, at least you have to serve yourself a proper meal. I will teach you the traditional dishes of my country, to create beautiful memories in your mind when remembering this historic epidemic season in Vietnam.

Remember! Staying at home must still be fun! Still learning every day!

Fight the epidemic in the cutest way possible!

Let’s try together!
