We've Been Creating Miniature Paper Birds Every Day For An Entire Year To Express Their Intricacy (59 Pics)
Hi, I am Vaishali, myself & my partner Nayan, we are paper cut artists based in India. We have been making paper artworks for one year now. We took up the 365 days challenge of creating miniature colorful birds using paper and watercolors for this entire year of 2018. Here we are sharing our works of art from our ongoing series of Miniature Paper Birds.
The concept of these miniatures is to express the intricacy & vibrance of the beautiful birds around us. We used the technique of layered paper cutting to give volume to the unique artworks and get a three-dimensional feel to them.
All the beautiful artworks are entirely hand-cut and hand-painted and are made without using any kind of magnifying tools. Each layer is precisely hand-cut on paper and painted to the exact shade of the bird after which it is assembled to get the final look. Every single colorful painting takes from 4-8 hours to complete depending on the details of feathers & colors. Some of the tiniest paper birds measure only 1.8 CM in height (from head to tail).

Green Bee-Eater
"As their name suggests, bee-eaters predominantly eat flying insects, especially bees and wasps, which are caught in the air by flights from an open perch. The stinger is removed by repeatedly hitting and rubbing the insect on a hard surface."

I love them. I am a paper artist too but I do cut paper. These are beautiful. You're doing a fantastic job. The quality is lovely. Thanks for sharing. It boosts other artists.
It would be cool if you put one each on small uniform framed canvases in a grid on the wall.
I like being able to see the human hand in most of these. You can really get a good feel for how mini these birds are! Amazing!!!
Yes, and also their use of real twigs/grasses.
Load More Replies...Amazing! They look so real, thanks for including a finger for scale. Wow.
