A place in Romania called Vama Veche where people come from all parts of the country and express themselves and have fun.
My name is Cosma Alexandru and through this photography project I wanted to put my passion to the test and tell everyone i am a photographer.
More info: Facebook
Secretly sneak in and capture humans’s natural environment
The place is like a continuous party on the beach
You can bring your pet with you
I think this guy advertises hot ketchup
The place is full of loving and friendly people
This guy was singing along a Pink Floyd song
Here no one reproaches how you dress and you are appreciated for the way you express yourself
Some history over here
You get to see lots of these people around in the morning
A 10 year old doing a backflip
Love this one
Found a child of nature
In Vama Veche you will find lots of dogs
The view from my tent. Really nice song there
That’s me under the sheet
At the end of the night everyone gathered at sunrise to bear witness of its beauty

Se poate si mai rau, Dan :) Acum e chiar mai bine decat speram. Vama reinvie, idiotii au inceput sa dispara. sau am avut eu bafta sa nu dau de ei.
Load More Replies...Stop this! We don't need tourism in Vama Veche ... it will destroy it more than it already did. Let's tell everyone it's bad, is ugly and let us, the ones who really cared about it and know how it was in the past, make it a nice place again.
Don't go to Vama Veche! It's our secret little place. All the strangers we've kissed at sunrise, the alcohol we've poured at sundown, all the nights we've danced like nobody's watching, all that is ours ! Don't take Vama Veche from us, the ones who keep it in our hearts all year long.
I actually live here and i can confirm that it's a special and unique place. It's all about freedom, no one will judge you here no matter what you do.
Why would judging be a criterion ? If you care about others judging you and look for a PHYSICAL place where people would not judge you, that's not freedom. That's just running away from "trouble". I go to Vama for completely different reasons: 1) to find peace and my inner self; 2) to "hear" myself out. In the process I enjoy getting together with others and see how people express themselves. But I certainly don't go to Vama Veche for others not to judge me and I don't derive pleasure out of what other people DON'T tell me. Cheers!
Load More Replies...Calm down. Right now, from the pictures, this place looks quite bad....dirty. This particular photo series is not going to make someone come to this thinking its some paradise!
The comments on here are really interesting. How do you find a balance between sharing something beautiful, and preventing it from becoming a commercial tourist location? I'm Australian and when I visited Romania, my friends took me with them to Vama and it was one of the most special experiences of my life and favourite places in the world. I feel very honoured to have been let into something that seemed like a well kept secret and have a huge amount of respect for the soul of the place. I think locals should be proud of it and of sharing it. But then again how do you do this without bringing the tourists?
Good work!
I believe is the worst thing you can do is to advertise this place in such a nice way. Isn't Vama Veche becoming overpopulated, overcrowded ... Aren't we complaining every time about how many "manelari' are there, how everything became more expensive and even more, how everyone is building more and more fancy 'villas' and hotels on the beach? Why is that happening? Because we share and tell everyone to come there.. when actually this place doesn't have space for so many people. This place was meant to be an isolated place, a place where you can connect to nature and separate from all the things the city is giving you, such as : many people, big hotels, villas, empires of business, mess, "manelari", judgmental people, expensive stuff ( actually material stuff)... I believe this place was meant to be isolated and the worst that it happened to it is that it became popular. So why are you/we trying to advertise it now to so many foreigners and to so many "manelari"?
Well, honestly, I've never been here (got very close though), but some of the photos I've seen are simply nightmarish. Besides the occasional hot chick with daddy issues to lighten things up, this place looks like it's indeed for the depraved, poor and uneducated.Sorry, but this is the truth.
Paradisul drogatilor si depravatilor. In pozele astea, in afara de copii, mare parte sunt scursuri, nu vreau sa generalizez dar asta este adevarul, iar copiii mici nu au ce cauta in asemenea loc si nu inteleg ce facea domnul acela in varsta cu nepotica(presupun) in acel loc.
De ce sunt scursuri? Pentru ca au tatuaje si par colorat?
