Husband Decides To Divorce Wife Because Of Infertility, And That Was Her Plan All Along
You’d assume that in the Western world, arranged marriages have become a thing of the past. But according to Reddit user Careful_Echidna554, they’re not.
Last week, the American turned to r/TrueOffMyChest to vent about her supposed traumatic experience in an attempt to gain ownership of it.
The woman claims her parents gave her away to a grown man while she was still in high school, and believes she would probably still be trapped in his grip if she hadn’t developed a scheme to prevent pregnancy.

And this is why contraceptive and abortion access is targeted so strongly by those who would do this to a child.
I'm so glad OP is doing well. Anyone in a similar situation, once you're married you're legally an adult and you can just leave, there's no legal way to force you back you can initiate divorce proceedings once you're away. Even if there's a missing persons report, all the police can share is that you're fine and not missing. It's better ifnyou get away with your documents, but it's really common not to and shelters and other groups supporting survivors of spousal a***e know how to deal with this, it's just extra paperwork.
It isn't, except for Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan, but this wasn't enforced by legal means it was co.ercive control. Once you're legally married you're legally an adult and can leave at any time, the police can't bring you back etc but this was 17byears of gr.ooming and telling OP a different story This is one of the reasons civics classes should be mandatory.
