Girl Mistakes Bride For Real-Life Princess From Book She’s Holding, And Her Reaction Melts Everyone’s Hearts
Most girls get to meet princesses only in Disneyland, but this little girl, she met one on the streets of Seattle.
“My wife and I got married last February, and during the photo shoot this little girl and her mom happened to be walking by,” Scott Robertson writes. “The little girl thought my beautiful wife was the Princess from her favorite book (the one she’s holding).” Since this all happened during their photo shoot, photographer Stephanie Cristalli managed to snap some photos. The little girl even got a flower from the bride’s, Shandace Lerma’s, bouquet. “Your wife is forever the Princess of Ballard to her,” the little girl’s mom told Scott.

Share on FacebookThe Woman in White, a princess story? Not sure what book that little girl was thinking of, but I doubt someone her age would read a detective Victorian novel, and there is definitely no princess in that book...
She looks like she's about 3 or so, ripe for all kinds of ideas. Mom was probably reading the book, daughter saw the cover, and decided that it was her "Princess Book." My daughter did similar stuff. Precious!
Load More Replies...Maybe we can have another person or two post the same info about the book not really being a children's book showing they know nothing about how children see the world and we are celebrating that.
So wonderful. Love that they are both so enchanted. (Hope the little girl gets some of those photos). I love that she loves that book so much (not a blanket or a toy), and even more wonderful, the book The Woman in White is a little frightening/mysterious!
So sweet and a bonus surprise too! The book cover is "Symphony in White" painting by James McNeill Whistler. It hangs beautifully in the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. It is about six feet tall and stunning. My very favorite painting! What a lovely moment between the bride and mother and daughter!
This is awesome. I was once at a cafe, and this little girl kept sneaking over to my table looking at me and running back to her Mum when I would look up (was reading a book). It happened a few more times, each time I would try and say hi, but off she would run. Finally her Mum turned around and said "she thinks you are Dorothy' from the Wizard of Oz, because I had on a blue and white shirt and my hair was braided. I beamed the whole rest of the day .
Sweet story, but the toddler is reading The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins?
What a lovely, gracious and kind bride. The little girl will treasure the memory forever.
Adorable, but Woman in White is a 19th century gothic horror novel about abuse, gaslighting and false imprisonment in asylums. Not about a princess and recommended only for very very precocious toddlers.
Maybe we can have a few more of you wet rags post how the book isn't a children's book. That would be ever so helpful.
If we could all see the world through the eyes of this child. What she saw was her favorite princess; not a White princess, like on the book, or an African-American princess, but a PRINCESS! Bigotry, racism, and hate are taught, so if we stop teaching it, it will lose its life.
This was exactly my first thought.. the little girl is not seeing any difference between the races and that's beautiful!
Load More Replies...I was mistaken for a Disney character as well few years ago. I was lining up for a movie and I heard a little girl probably around 6 years old, she was behind me, excitedly told her mom: "Mom, it's Pocahontas". My hair was long, black, and shiny that the little girl thought she was seeing Pocahontas in the flesh. It gave me a smile on my face hearing how happy the little girl was.
The awe in her eyes! Children just rock with their guiless love for life and everyone in it.
Such a sweet sweet bride to take a time out for a child. Yes, groom, you married a princess!
Really, really folks, The Woman in White is not a children's book in many ways (for starters, it's a horror/mystery book about 600 pages long. She isn't reading this, but I would certainly understand if she liked the picture on the cover.
Ah many of us understood that, but that's not the point of the story
Load More Replies...She is a little doll. Do we see how the meanness of the world never comes between comes between a child and a love for another human. She saw a Princess and nothing more. I'm sending out a hug to the little one.
Bless the bride for taking the time talking to the adorable little girl, the groom for waiting patiently and the photographer for taking those pictures. The looks on their faces are priceless.
What a sweet moment regardless of the book content- she, like my daughters just saw a pretty princess. AND THAT DRESS!! Gorgeous, she rocked it- what a beauty!
Love this and so kind of the Beautiful Bride to stop and talk to her.
How endearing!! Wonderful of the bride to play along! Made that little girl's day!
Oh this story went straight to the heart and tear ducts! So beautiful!!!
I love this story, the bride & little girl. The bride for taking time from her very special day to interact with a child. The child for recognizing beauty for a child has a pure heart & is color blind. Color should not be an issue but we know it is. This child may light the way for others to see from the heart not the eyes. I had similar circumstances as a child & grew up loving all races. We are all one people under God's Heaven, the stars. I love this story.
The little girl didn't get wrong. Your wife's kindness makes her a real life princess in every meaningful sense of the word. Congratulations on the royal wedding. :-)
This is amazing story book that someone needs to write about it would be a great story book for a great children book for the same age of the little girl to read!!
What a beautiful woman, taking those moments out of her own special day to brighten someone else's.
Well, she certainly does look like a princess!! And the little girl is beaming. I love stories like this! Congratulations to the bride and groom, you have a story for the ages.
This 72 yr old man just felt his heart melt just a little bit, perhaps the age of innocence is still around. Good on you mum for letting her believe.
This is such a great story. I needed to see this story of racial harmony, especially after the Philando Castille not guilty verdict. My heart is hurting.
I like that race didn't play into this at all. It just is. and it's perfect.
If that child's favorite book is Wilkie Collin's "Woman in White" then she must be a genius.
This is adorable, but does anyone else find it strange that this little girl is carrying around a copy of the gothic mystery novel The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins??? Not about a princess. Also not a book for children. As a mom, I'm assuming she found it on her parent's bookshelf and just likes the cover so carries it around with her. My two year old daughter did the same thing for a while with a boxed set of Lord of the Rings.
I love it when a person comments without reading the other comments, only to find that they are the umpteenth person to say the same, inane, and beside the point, thing!

So incredibly sweet....and what a lovely woman that bride is, for making this little girl feel so special. oxoxox
Soon my little brother (age of 3) would see a guy in a superhero costume, and think the same thing!
A Bridezilla would have shooed the little girl away. Kudos to the beautiful bride and her compassion.
I would say its not read to her. My son used to carry round a M2 magazine because it had 'Tony Stark' on it. Couldnt read anything in it. Didnt want to either. It is now pinned to his wall. The fact that the women is white on the cover also means nothing to the child. see children do not look at people in colour only beauty that is untill they are corrupted and infected with the hate seeded in the world. If we all looked at the world as a child does life would be AMAZING.
My heart "squeezes" as I look upon the innocense of children. Unfortunately, our so-called adult world takes away that lovable trait.
Love this story. This will be a memory for the little and the bride for many years to come.
can't be a bad day when a child tells you, you look like a princess. so sweet
love the story, the bride a sweetheart for making the little ones day. but it didn't hurt the brides feelings "she looks like a princess"
I love this. That little girl's face says it all. So kind of the bride and groom to take the time for the pics too.
The book she is holding is a 19th century mystery novel for adults. Have a feeling this is not quite right!
This is ridiculous. Wilkie Collins? The Woman in White. The story of an abused woman locked up in a Victorian lunatic asylum? What rubbish are you peddling here?
This is patently nonsense. Wilkie Collins? The Woman in White? A princess? Do you have any idea what that book is about? What are you trying to sell here?
What a lovely thing your wife did for that little girl and you are right your wife is beautiful both on the inside and outside. Congratulations to you both/
Oh how beautiful! That little cutie will remember this moment for the rest of her life. Congrats to the other beautiful women in the photo. May you have a wonderful life filled with joy!

While it's a cute story, I seriously doubt the book she was holding was "her favorite book, about a princess." This melts me into joy and happiness, both because of the couples and also by the sweet face of the little toddler girl... Aawwwww...
Very, very sweet story, but, I doubt that is her favorite book. That's an adult mystery book. Probably her mother's favorite. LOL! What a great thing for that bride to do!!

Super cute! Though, was no one else intrigued by the book in hand, and that fact that a 19th century mystery novel is a toddler's favorite book? #parentinggoalz
her favorite book is a gothic mystery about the crappiness of being a married woman?
Wow! ! How adorable this is. Has anyone ever told your wife that she looks like the young lady from the episode of Undercover Boss when they went undercover at Checkers and Rally?
This is soo adorable! Has anyone ever told her she looks like the young lady on Undercover boss. The episode where they were at Checkers. Amazing resemblance.
So many very pretty ladies in this story. The brides dress is on point and so correct.
This is the cutest and most adorable thing ever!! The way she's looking at the princess is so precious.
So adorable! I can relate to this on a couple of occasions. Best feeling ever!
Sweet... but the kid must be a genius if her favourite book is 'The Woman in White'! Plus that means the bride should have been psychotic.
Just enjoy the picture. she's a kid holding a book and sees a bride, jesus...
Load More Replies...She is not blind, she just don't know the toxic concept of racism yet.
Load More Replies...Here's my problem.... The Woman in White is not about a princess. It's a Victorian gothic with ghosts and murder and mistaken identities and such. It's also far too dense and not age-appropriate for a child that young. That little girl is what? 3 or 4? That's way too young to have read The Woman in White. Maybe her Mom told her some sort of age-appropriate version of the story but this whole thing feels strange to me.
“The little girl thought my beautiful wife was the Princess from her favorite book (the one she’s holding).” The book she's holding is "The Woman in White" by Wilkie Collins, rather advanced for a toddler, and totally lacking in fairytale princesses.
The book the little girl is holding is NOT a "princess" book. This is a mystery novel from the 1860's. It is hardly a children's book, so I am a little mystified concerning this interaction, sweet though it appears.
she just like the cover of the pretty lady what we see is way different from a toddler ..... you lost your innocents didn t you ??
Load More Replies...Total tosh!! The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins certainly isn't a child's novel, let alone about a princess.
Kids sometimes love a book purely for the picture on the front. This child obviously thought the woman on the cover looked like a princess.

Wow!

"The Woman in White" by Wilkie Collins is NOT a fairy story about a princess! It's a Victorian melodrama about mistaken identity and murder!!!
