One day, mother of two, Jaimee Newberry, came up with a brilliant idea to sew her daughter a colorful dress that was based on her own drawing. The dress was such a huge hit with both her daughter’s friends and their parents that Newberry decided to do clothes design business based on this creative idea.
Titled ‘Picture This,’ Newberry’s company turns kids’ drawings into colorful clothes that they could actually wear (currently, just dresses). So, how does it work? You go over to the Picture This website, choose a size and print out a coloring sheet. Then your kid draws her little heart out, and you send a picture of a drawing to the fashion design website. Two weeks later, the kid’s clothes arrive in your mail. Yes, it’s as simple as that! Brilliant, huh? Try it for yourselves by clicking here.

If it is I think that it's super cool. No one should suppress their creativity when it comes to day to day life, including the creative freedom of your clothing. In other words, do whatever the heck you want!! Dress however you please, live however you like, eat whatever you want, and just generally be yourself (as long as it doesn't break laws, doesn't hurt anyone, and doesn't hurt yourself). All that being said, I think that it's great that these kids are able to express themselves like this! It's an incredible idea.

The coloring sheets are literally the dress patterns at a scaled down ratio. Then each order is printed, cut and sewn.

This is awesome, I just started to design the same at Tedybujo (Fb/Tedybujo). We transform kids drawings into plush toys! It's the best!

My name is Ariyana Smith and I tried this also and this was amazing I think I should do this more often because when I tried it I thought it was going to be boring but when I started it was so amazing you should give it a try sometime!!!!
