Man Spends 3 Days Making $15,000 LEGO Statue, Child Destroys It In Seconds
Exhibitions are pretty cool. Especially the interactive ones. But one kid took the hands-on concept a little too far when he accidentally trashed a $15,000 LEGO sculpture at an Expo in Ningbo, China.
The cool sculpture was a giant fox figurine of Nick Wilde, one of Zootopia’s characters. The artist, named Zhao, spent three long days and nights meticulously piecing the life-size Disney character together from thousands of lego bricks, but it only took the kid seconds to destroy when he accidentally pushed the work of art over just one hour after the exhibition opened in a shopping mall. He’d climbed under the security ropes to get a closer look at the cartoon character and, well, he obviously got a little TOO close! His parents offered to compensate Zhao but the artist declined and gracefully accepted that the incident was simply an unfortunate accident. After all, what kid wouldn’t want to play with that amount of LEGO?

What can go wrong with the security ropes around the sculpture?

Share on Facebooks****y parents, spoiling their kids. If i did that as a kid i would have gotten a beating of a life because i ruined someones work, was an uncivilized idiot for passing the barricade, and embarrassed my parents.
You wouldn't have done it anyway because our generation knew better!! We knew the limits and respected it. I fear for the future of humanity :(

Load More Replies..."accidentally pushed it" "climbed under the security ropes" Uhm... so where were the parents to tell their kid not to cross the security ropes, they're there to avoid things like this.... -_-
At least it wasn't a giant statue of a gorilla. We know how that would have ended with the Lego's getting shot.
Haha no need for me to throw down a gorilla comment now...

Good Lord, that was a harsh one. But It's not wrong though, and It makes it even harsher :/

Were these the same parents who were at the Cincinnati zoo last week?
"His parents offered to compensate Zhao but the artist declined and gracefully accepted that the incident was simply an unfortunate accident." A great gesture on part of the artist. Hopefully the parents learned a lesson about making sure their children behave.
How does one compensate three days of work and, who know how much endless planning. Some people think they can buy their children's out of trouble. At least the artist is left with some beautiful pictures. The parents only have a spoiled brat.

goes back to the talk of "leashing" the kids in public... not quite a bad idea after all.... my kids loved the children's leashes. They come in neat designs even, teddy bears, back pack styles, etc. They are safety for things like this, as well as keeping your child from being snatched!
I 'leashed' my kid last yr at a theme park. I got some dirty stares, but she didn't run off, and no animals and/or exhibits were destroyed.
