These cool photos, compiled by the helpful folk here at Bored Panda, gives the wonderful gift of perspective by doing precisely that. Side-By-Side comparisons of everything from astonishing pictures of before and after in the autumn time to technological advances in street lighting and size comparisons of unexpected things make for a fascinatingly fresh look at things you may have taken for granted. Scroll down below to check these interesting things out for yourself, and gain a newfound appreciation for the changes (or lack thereof) in our everyday lives!

These are different varieties. The one on the left is a modern hybrid, possibly an Early Girl The one on the right looks like a Cherokee Purple. If you want to compare similar varieties, compare the latter with today's Beefsteak.

Notice the shorter muzzle and rounder head and ears. Read up on the domestication of foxes on fur farms in russia and the colors and genetic markers of domestication. I know this is a cross, but the articles are great to read. Neither one should be a pet, sadly wolf crosses seem to end up in rescue because they start out in the most testosterone poisoned households. A real shame.

It means nothing. Bergoglio has been protecting paedophiles all his life. When he visited Ireland he lied by saying that he had never heard of Magdalene laundries or mother & baby homes, which were two the most notorious institutions which enslaved and murdered women and children. When challenged by our head of government and Minister for Children he stonewalled the points they made, especially the points about the Tuam babies. As he left Ireland he made an appalling comment to the effect that gay people were mentally ill and required psychiatric treatment. This is purely because Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Minister Katherine Zappone are both openly gay. He has done nothing, and will do nothing, for the victims of the church.

For more high tides, Google Morecambe Bay, UK. The tide comes in faster than a man can run, carving furrows in the mud that people trip into to be sucked down by the riptide and killed 21 indentured Chinese workers in 2004, in one tide.

If half the planet didn't have most of the water in bottles in fridges and shops it might look a lot better, it's a finite supply, yes we need to drink water, but the human race managed quite well for thousands of years before the water bottling industry got started, we all have taps, have a bottle by all means but re-use it and fill up at home or work or school.

Like many others I wondered in passing if he was the biological father, but the congruence of a number of facial features means that he very likely is. The height disparity is not entirely inexplicable - there could be recessive genes involved that were modified by the mother's contribution, and there may be dietary/faminedisease issues in the father's childhood (or, through epigenetics, in the grandparents' life histories) that have dictated the father's height. Genetics and inheritace are wonderful things...

But especially that mouth area altogether is very similar in both. And who knows, either one of them could have a syndrome affecting his height, for example. But well, to see some positive in this: I do see some similarities.

My college had a very good volleyball program, drawing players internationally - more than you would think from Central Europe, especially coming to a tiny town in Arkansas. We also had a large number of Taiwanese students, especially in mathematics and engineering. Somehow, a 6'7" (200cm) Slovenian girl got paired up with a 4'10" (150cm) Taiwanese girl as roommates in the dormitories. They were absolutely inseparable, and I think they enjoyed all the people openly rubbernecking when they walked by.

White light is not a good idea, though. There are modern LED street lights that are bright enough for driving as they give a sharp view but do not bother wildlife so much.

True. White and blue colours are to be avoided when choosing the lights, whether it's LED or anything else. To relax, experts recommend reddish or warm tones, like orange and yellow (available also in LED technology). And this is actually about physics, biology and neurology, not some scam that sells itself under the "inner peace" disguise.

I find LED so relentless and exhausting when driving. Old fashioned light bulbs 'twinkle' which makes them so much easier to bear. The same goes to old fashioned versus LED head lamps. The glare off the latter is awful. I understand there are many reasons to move over to LED, but I wish they could be made softer and gentler.

I know. Kills me when people equate a bulb style with temperature. Worse yet, bulbs that will say stupid things like "soft light". Soft isn't a colour, FFS. Soft means less shadowy, which is a function of size vs distance vs diffusion, not colour.

Oh and Brandon, EVERYTHING is sexism because we live in a male dominated society. The only reason why you don’t see it is because you are a man and therefore you live with the privilege that you never have to experience it. Since you never experience it, you don’t see it or you think it’s not true.

Brandon you are wrong. It IS in fact telling girls that they can only be perfect while telling boys they can have the freedom to be what they want to be. It’s plain and simple misogyny (with sexism against boys too, since not all boys like so called masculine stereotypes like guns). And people buy these magazines because we are unfortunately brainwashed to believe this c**p. Why not have magazines for girls that want to be intelligent and individuals too?

Yes! And they are destroying many cities that they visit... Venice in particular has massive amounts of tourists vomited upon them by these enormous ships/floating skyscrapers- the quantities of touch and go tourists have become so damaging that Venice is thinking of instituting an entry fee into the city for cruise ship tourists. I think it's a good idea- hopefully it helps (before the world loses this treasure)

Well, you cannot compare sizes, because this is a Mercator projection, which actually *distort* sizes. Russia here appears way bigger than it really is.

I also do not undertand who some people do not move to another place after the flood has damaged their home. I live in Finland and here is not as insane floods an in this picture but still many Finnish people live near the rivers and at some springs their houses will get water damage when the snow starts to melt and the water in the river rises too much.

I can't imagine Vancouver, Canada flooding like this...oh wait, I can. We have so much rain that when it's sunny, we still carry umbrellas and wear a rain coat. Which is better than having to "carry" a boat with you...or a shovel.

Well it's not that bad over here, however despite having floods almost every year, they still manage to complain about a lack of water if it doesn't rain for a few weeks in summer. (Incidentally : average rainy days in my country is 200 per year...AVERAGE).

It's more about the skill than the cost. It doesn't cost an extra $15 to put a person in a different environment and zoom in on them. This is more the difference between an informal phone shot and a formal posed shot.

$25 for this service, is still literally not enough for a photographer to make a living with. For the amount of work involved, at $25, they'd be better of working for Starbucks, as Starbucks pays their staff more per hour... :(

I disagree. People who are blind need Braille to learn to read and write English well. The tactile experience reinforces reading and writing skills in a way that audio versions cannot. 70% of people who are blind are unemployed. Of those who are employed, 84% can read Braille. Being fluent in Braille enables the blind to write well, which is very important in terms of employability.

The borough it’s situated in, Mitte, is the most central borough of Berlin and contains both East and West districts, but this house is situated in the Kleine Rosenthaler Straße and is in the East.

the room on the left has a light on inside though, you can tell by the shadow of the ceiling light. Either that or it has a second window.
