We all have geography lessons in school. And while we learn many interesting things about the maps and geography in them, there's always room for improvement.
So, today, let's look at these interesting maps of Europe that we picked and found online. After all, there's no wrong time to learn something new. And who knows, maybe you'll end up using these facts somewhere (maybe a trivia night?), unlike some things you were taught at school.

Load More Replies...He wouldn’t feed many though - he's mostly made of hot air.
Load More Replies...I just found out that a lot of Chinese people were cannibalized during the Cultural Revolution. It was not out of hunger or for cultural/historical reasons, but just to thoroughly disrespect the person killed. They particularly went for the hearts and livers. So eating your PM? Sure, why not? That’s humans for you!
Life of Pi comes up to my mind, even though that’s an Indian in a shipwreck on a boat. He ate the heat and liver of a sailor

similar to Germany... "Schei-benkleister" instead of Scheiße!

it's not ''piška'' in Slovene, but ''pišuka''. Also, ''pišuka'' has no meaning while ''piška'' actually does mean chicken.
I am swiss, but who that Gottfried Stutz is I honestly don't know. However, Gott = God, Fried = Friede / peace (I guess) and Stutz is slang for money. God peace money? I don't know and am too lazy to google atm
Sometimes, when I say "Gopfridstutz!", my Mom will reply with: "Dä cha au nüt defür" (roughly translated: "It's not his fault") XD
Load More Replies...Danish is wrong... we say: "for katten, for søren" - aka for the cat, for søren (a name)... for hulen is looooong cone....
Any subtitles on Danish TV seemed to translate all English swearwords to "pis". So I still don't know how to swear in Danish.
Load More Replies...Pekki does not mean fat- it means INTO the fat. And where does the human body have lots of fat - in the buttocks. So Pekki actually means up your a*s. Kid friendly would be "Kurat!" - meaning the devil. As the devil is a kinda chaotic neutral guy in Estonian folklore - strong but stupid and deathly afraid of wolves, thunderstorms and his grandmother.
Did the TV show "Father Ted" popularise "f.e.c.k" or was it already in common usage? (Looks like BP doesn't like it spelled out)
I approve of how many Canadian cities are represented. This actually helps me compare my country accurately to European climates
I wouldn’t have expected 3 of the 4 major Canadian cities shown to be south of England. Panda be educational, too.
Load More Replies...It's taking cities from around the world and keeping them as far north as they are but putting them on the map of Europe. Like I didn't know New York is as far south as the southern end of Italy. 😲
Load More Replies...Always seems weird to me that I Washington winters a cold with snow on the same latitude in Spain people are still enjoying sun and even the beach..maybe not swimming but still beach.
The climate o Cyprus is quite hot, because is affected by Africa and Sahara desert. On the other hand Japan (Tokyo) has colder climate with frequent snows, because is affected by the closer-by Siberia.
Yup, Seattle would be a lot colder if it wasn't close to the ) Pacific Ocean.
Load More Replies...It shows the latitude of cities from the Northern hemisphere, just shifting them East or West to Europe.
Load More Replies...Maps are leading us in nearly every step of our way. They are reachable to everyone - just a few presses and you can see Google or Apple Maps. But that wasn’t always the case.
The history of maps can be traced as far back as 5000 years ago. The first-ever maps were used to depict small areas in pictures. And there was no set of rules on how everything should be drawn, which made maps quite inaccurate.
Later, the map-making art was taken over by the Greeks and Romans. The most notable works of this mapping period were those of Claudius Ptolemaeus. He was a geographer, mathematician, and astronomer, who came up with longitude and latitude lines. And, well, that revolutionized European geographic thinking.
Ha, jokes on switzerland, the biggest, most popular and most expensive city isn't even the capital.
To be fair, Switzerland also has a very high income so in comparison to the others it's actually not that costly.
Load More Replies...I almost bought a house in rural Ireland for less than what a year's rent in Dublin would come to. Not a hovel, not a fixer-upper, an actual livable house. I simply couldn't justify it because although I would be open to moving to Ireland, I have obligations in my country for at least the next few years.
There's no way the average rent for a one bed flat in the centre of London is that cheap. Prices there are exorbitant.
The map is from 2021, 2 years maybe is not much but rents everywhere skyrocketed in the last few years

Then, during the middle ages, there wasn’t much progress in the map-making scene. Most of the maps that were produced during this time were of monasteries, which were influenced by religious devotion. They were heavily decorated with angels and imaginary monsters.
However, the Islamic world made some progress in the map-making area. The most notable instance is of Al-Idrisi, an Arab scholar who produced numerous world maps and geography books that heavily influenced this scientific field.
To be honest, all French people I know think that Italians and British are the most attractive (mainly because of the accent)
Not in Europe, but in my 30's, I, a balding, reasonably fit, averagely built, fairly intelligent, outgoing and articulate middle class English chap, but not a particularly handsome one, working as a high end Chef at a senior level was given an opportunity to work in the USA (this was the 1980's) as a consultant / advisor / trainer for a consortium of private Clubs / Restaurants / Resorts. It was an eye opener ; lets just say that my 'love life' went from average in the UK to supercharged within the space of a month, so much so that it got to the point that I was actually turning down 'dates' as I was knackered !!! Lots of fun, many, many lovely people met along the way, professionally and personally but it got to a point around 6 months in that I stopped going out as it was exhausting me trying to avoid, if not harassment, attention. Nearly wore my w***y to a stump and made me appreciate the finer and nicer aspects of being in a stable relationship !! Happy days, long ago with many

After the Middle Ages, the invention of the printing press by Johannes Gutenberg pushed the monasteries out of the dominance of map production. Also, the printing process becoming more available resulted in the growth of major publishing houses. And they produced maps that were accessible to everyone, no matter their financial status.
Even more, improvements in mapping were brought about by the accessibility of public learning and the thirst for knowledge. Increasingly, maps started having more colors showcasing various aspects of the presented place.
Also, in the late 1700s, thematic maps started showing up; for example, those showing the spread of certain illnesses or the extent of a flood.
Now, the maps on our phones are made by using satellite systems and surveying techniques. With these tools, cartographers can measure everything with precision, which was never achievable before. And due to their precision, maps have become an irreplaceable aspect of nearly everyone’s life.

Load More Replies...The reason might be housing (as a couple it is easier) and a lot of east-european men prefer young wifes
Load More Replies...Hmm, can anyone tell me if Spain and Portugal can be called very religiouse? Because I have a theory why there is a difference between east and west…
Maybe by European standards, but I wouldn't call any EU country 'very religious'. Poland and Italy are considered the most radical in that sense, but even they would feel very secular compared to the US, for example. These numbers have more to do with traditional gender roles. It's a lot more common in Western Europe for women to focus on their education and careers before getting married, while in the East, men are still expected to be the breadwinner.
Load More Replies...27 in the us. I’m pretty surprised across the board. My impression in the us is that most women get married at 22-24
Is there a difference between north and south or in the bible belt? I have a theory that more religious people tent to get married earlier
Load More Replies...I personally can’t speak it, but the Saami language and culture is still thriving in northern Scandinavia :)
Load More Replies...Romanian language is a Romance Language, not Slavic. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanian_language
Icelandic is apparently still close to Old Norse. Basque is still a going concern. And it's fairly normal in the UK to study Anglo Saxon if you're doing a degree in English.
It is not "Kione Greek", but "koine", and in 600 AD it was probably not that either! (The 5th century marks the transition of Classical Greek to the Greek spoken today, the latter called "koine" - common; it is unlikely that the transition was "instant".)
Most of this would be guesswork. Not much is known about the years 477 to 1000 AD in central and western Europe. Very little recorded language has survived.
Nope, Sweden has a very affordable and sustainable public housing stock which is reasonably priced coupled with a (mostly) progressive, liberal political and educational system that allows individuals to flourish from an early age, why do you think that Sweden and most Scandinavian countries who follow the same formula regularly feature in the top 10 index of happiness ?
Load More Replies...This makes me feel like less of a loser for living with my parents until I was 26
Italian are awful with that matter, they will argue about employment and the difficulty to find a place to live but the main reason is a huge tradition of being nursered by moms. Italiens moms are great i dont judge that !!
I'm German and 24 seems ridiculously high to me. I moved out at 18 for uni. I guess the high rents these days really hamper young people.
I think Iceland should do the Chinese thing and send barges full of rock to the Bay of Biscay and build their own little island big enough to plant a flag on, so they don't keep getting ignored.
Wait, if 17.5 is the average in Sweden, half of Swedes leave home before that?! Even if you count going to live at university as "leaving home" that seems fuzzy. How old do you have to be to sign contracts?
Parents do sign. It is an average, but in this case the spreading isn't that wide

The percentage is higher in the Balkan countries. We just don't declare it.
Agreed, after the wars anyways my family and a lot of others gave up on that religion stuff.
Load More Replies...I think this is more a reflection of peer pressure - most UK people who declare themselves CofE are not actually believers, they're just not prepared to admit that they don't really believe in god. France has a proud history of secularism. so they don't mind admitting it, but in practice it's a much more traditionally religious place than the UK.
In the Balkans where religion is equaled with nationality, there is a decent amount of people who will declare to belong to a certain religion though they don't give a flying f***k about God and spirituality.
Load More Replies...Ireland would be a lot higher but people register.as catholic to get their kids into catholic schools. UK is similar. I think catholic atheist would be a good description.
My homeland tied with Sweden... Impressive. Denmark too? I also think non-church goer has erroneously been equated with atheist.
The UK is 37% Atheist (according to the latest census), It's actually higher but because enough people declare themselves Jedi, or a servant of the flying spaghetti monster, they get classified as actual religions, and not the slight it is meant to be upon organised religion.
Notice how Christian the communist country of Russia is. More so than Britain, France, Germany and Scandinavia. I thought communism was supposed to be opposed to religion.
It was. You can absolutely see the difference between East and West Germany for example. I'm not sure how the Orthodox Church in Eastern Europe managed to hang onto their s**t though!

Why has Iceland disappeared from the Bay of Biscay? I assume even they get bad air when their volcanoes erupt.
I get that this is a Europe wide map but if you were to look smaller scale you'd see most of the cities fail air quality standards. For instance I'm in a scotland which shows blue here but my street and several others around regularly surpass the dangerous to human health levels of pollution. Any where you get lots of traffic really.

Pure b******t for France, there are huge differences between norh and south.

Very skewed when you take countries as a whole. Vast swathes of Scotland and Poland are forests.
Isn't it point of the diagram to compare area of country covered in trees to entire area of country?

Not sure this is recent. Can't remember seeing anyone with a tophat in decades.
For Poland it's definitely not recent. The depicted hats are part of traditional wear and you're most likely to see them during traditional song and dance performances, maybe during big occassions like weddings, or children's costume balls.

Load More Replies...It's Ireland and Northern Ireland.Even more Strange.
Load More Replies...Fun short story. Company that outsourced to Switzerland wanted to enforce their policy to have at best 50% black workers, and then got very surprised and confused why this wasn't feasibly possible
Most countries with any decent size, it is from their former colonies. France's black people are mostly from former colonies, Italy is mostly Ethiopians, etc. Because for people leaving those countries many speak the former colonial language, and many of thse countries have or used to have easier immigration from their former colonies. It is why Eastern Europe and the Balkans are so low, no former black colonies.
Hmm. Norway and Sweden have significant Black populations, but never had any Black colonies - or much in the way of anything you could call an "empire" anyway. Ireland's never had an empire either, not unless you count the period from 1801-1922 when it was officially part of the UK, and therefore nominally an integral part of an established Imperial power - although suggesting to any Irish person that Ireland was once an imperial power would probably get a response along the lines of "Are you mad?" with a liberal amount of swearing.
Load More Replies...These numbers are very unreliable considering most European countries don't track the "race" of their population in censuses or other statistics.
The recent census put non white population of UK at around 12%. That includes people from India, Pakistan and other former colonies. Myself, I live in a very multicultural area and find it wonderful.i I can experience so many different cultures (esp the food) without having to travel!
Its cool how you can make a correlation between the countries who colonized Africa and the percentage.
By the way, "black" doesn't have a fixed definition. Anybody can claim to be black, or white, or Italian.
You can only claim to be Italian if you can show your Italian passport.
Load More Replies..."Mostly white" does not equate to "ethnically/culturally homogenous" in most European countries. Many countries have a diverse population with many different cultural or ethnical backgrounds.
Load More Replies...They drink it but in smaller cups and less overall consumption. Turkey is still more of a tea culture
Load More Replies...Kilogrammes of what? Beans? Ground coffee? Instant? Brewed coffee? I get through about 6 or 7 cups a day.

Load More Replies...As you have to pour a cup of coffee every hour into a Dutch person to keep the machine going, I do not believe the 5.1%
Is it possible that you're somehow part of the Luxembourg number? As in do people go there to buy coffee or something
Load More Replies...Interesting to calculate coffee by weight rather than volume... Odd to attempt to picture it.
It makes more sense to use weight. The volume will vary depending on how you brew it, but a kg is a kg. Maybe I should start keeping track.
Load More Replies...For my country, yes ; for the cretins that run my country, no ; those people I'd rather put them in a hole in the ground and just fill it in whilst they're alive. Wars are not started by the people of a country, they are started by upstarts, despots and chancers using those people to fulfill their own deluded ambitions - think Putin and Netenyahu at the moment ; they won't win and people on both sides of their particular countries will suffer because of those two idiots unachievable delusions.
That's it exactly Hugh! Just let the leaders duke it out hand to hand and leave the rest of us alone. WWI was essentially a falling out between cousins FFS. (Edit because I don't think tone came across...I was agreeing with Hugh and criticising the leadership in Europe at the time of WWI, which resulted in millions of people dying for effectively a fall out between cousins).
Load More Replies...It is very strange that Finland remained neutral when Russia was communist and agresive and now wants to join NATO for fear of Putin.
Load More Replies...Since my country (or more specifically, the government) doesn't give a tiny little rat's a*s about me....no.
I was thinking exactly the same and l'd bet we're from different countries, lol.
Load More Replies...I think a reason should be included. I imagine fighting for your country against a foreign invader would have a different percentage than fighting in a country halfway around the world, for reasons you don't understand or don't agree with.
This is also 5 years old data. I think after Russia invaded Ukraine, the numbers in many places like Poland are probably higher. And Ukraine, between those that left and those who are pro-russia, 62% of the population willing to fight for Ukraine sounds about right.
Dunno, I'm from Poland and since the invasion more people (at least in my friends/acquintances circles) talk about immigration than about defending the country. To be fair, right now our country is so messed up (economically, politically, socially, not to mention the Church influences), there's not too much to fight for.
Load More Replies...There's a very clear idea who would be coming to invade when you're a Finn and even though the current government is full of greedy little morons, people here wouldn't be fighting for the government, but to keep the poop tin from destroying us and that makes a difference
I am glad that this percentage is lower each day in Balkan region. We had 90ies, and anyoine with few braincells more is against any type of war. To be honest, there is no war to defend your country, just to defend government and theis personal interests. Regular people can only suffer in war.
Depends on your definition of "speaks". UK schools teach foreign languages (which and whether it was compulsory varies over the years). However, they start late and are not very advanced by the time they finish. I did both French (5 years) and German (2 years) and I speak neither with any fluency.
a school in my town (UK) has now ditched teaching french in favour of British sign language, personally think that's a brilliant thing
Load More Replies...False. In Romania we are taught English since the 1st grade so anyone over 25 had very high chances of knowing at least basic English. Also, we have a large population of migrants in the UK, Italy and Spain which means we have lots of people speaking English, Italian and Spanish . In the western part of the country they also teach German and lots of people are of German descent so you'll have no problem finding even older generations being fluent in German. In other parts of the country, due to the minorities you can find people speaking Hungarian + Romanian or russian+ Romanian and lastly, we are also taught French in school since before communism and people love watching Spanish or Turkish soap operas. As a conclusion, the average old Romanian person will speak either just Romanian or Romanian + German/hungarian/Russian, the average middle aged Romanian will have high changes of speaking italian/spanish/English and young people all speak at least conversational English +1more
Also, in the cities due to the job market you are not hired if you don't speak English as well so it's close to impossible to find a person under 35 who doesn't speak at least conversational English, in the cities and now yoing people also are curious about languages and pick up stuff like Scandinavian languages, Japanese or Korean or even Turkish.
Load More Replies...Define "foreign". I live in South Africa and speak English. English is the language of the colonizers, so technically I do speak a foreign language. But I also speak Afrikaans, which is descended from Dutch but developed here (with loan words and grammar from local indigenous languages) so it's not. I can greet people and say some words in Zulu and Sotho, so...
A better word than "foreign" would be second or third language I think.
Load More Replies...this makes sense for a lot of smaller countries because a lot of people don’t speak their language. my mom is fluent in english, french, italian, and albanian. they start teaching kids other languages very young.
In Luxembourg, children are raised in 3 languages : Luxembourgish in kindergarten, German in primary school (like mathematics is taught in German), and French in secondary school (Mathematics now taught in French)
Depends on your definition of foreign. Finland has two official languages Finnish and Swedish plus 3 Sami languages that have official status in the counties where they're spoken. Also Karelian languages and Finnish Kalo are spoken by Finnish natives, but are badly endangered.
Again Belgium very wrong. To those not knowin : top half of the country (and abt 51 - 54 % of the population) is Dutch speaking and will have a much higher percentage compared to the French speaking southern part of the country.
But how us that relevant? Neither Dutch nor French are foreign languages for Belgium. This table is about the percentage people that don't speak foreign languages.
Load More Replies...What a weird graph.. if your country is not an English speaking country, English would be the "foreign" language and I imagine the percentage of people who know a little basic English is quite high in today's world.
Yes. One of the highest in the world. El Salvador is sometimes quoted as having more. But for major countries- USA #1.

I would go crazy if I was living with my parents for more than 18y. Nightmare haha
Why are the higher numbers red, and the lower numbers green? Are you succeeding if you don’t live with your parents?
In Norway I have never once heard of a school closing because of snow! But at kindergarden the smallest children below 3 stay inside if the temperature comes below -10.
I can't remember it happening in Estonia either. You could stay home if you wanted if it is -20 and under.
Load More Replies...In a lot of the Uk we don't get snow often enough to have experience dealing with it , nor do we have equipment to keep roads clear etc for the few days a year it actually stays around. North of Scotland cope reasonably well as they get a decent snow fall most years
Lol never heard school cancelled because of snow in Estonia. When I was a kid we could stay at home if it was -30 or lower.
The Conservative government that threw the baby out with the bathwater by having such a dumbed down referendum really, really f****d up the future of the UK for at least a generation. I even knew expats living in Spain who voted to leave who thought a deal could be brokered to allow them unlimited access to their properties only to find out that now, under the new 'agreement' they could only go to their European places for a limited time every year and would be penalised if they exceeded their quota ..... The general British public are a thick lot at the best of times, they should never have been given a vote on something as important as leaving Europe and all that that withdrawal entailed (not that the ruling party at the time had a f*****g clue either - bloody inbred toffs with no idea )
Er, we had the vote in 1975 and it was better than 2:1 for "remain" (67.2%). We only had that second referendum in 2016 because Cameron was so arrogant and ignorant he thought a second "remain" result was a foregone conclusion. The way I look at it, since we've had two referenda on the subject of EC/EU membership, why not have a third? The Brexiteers can hardly complain. If they could never accept the 1975 result as the last word, why should the rest of us accept the 2016 vote as being final?
Load More Replies...And still 25% of the Dutch elected somebody who absolutely wants to leave the EU. The Netherlands are the worlds second biggest export country of agricultural goods, depending on definition 60 to 80% of the produce is exported. Leaving the EU might not be a smart chojce. Yes, there ate some uncomfortable or stupid rules, but there is a lot of free transport and subsidiary (?) money to be lost.
subsidiary => subsidy (subsidiary means something else). By the way, here in the UK, almost all the "stupid EU rules" that the right wing press complain about turn out to have been invented by the UK government and have nothing to do with the EU at all. But: almost all is not the same as "all".
Load More Replies...Doesn't this rather depend on the ethnicity of the people being asked?
Also on the cultural background which is the real question. Skin color doesn't tell about your culture, values, religion or social habits. I married a Muslim guy from Middle East, another man from the same background may have not been the right for me. Even in order to fight racism, we shouldn't forget that there are also cultural differences.
Load More Replies...I'd just be very surprised. As far as I know, I don't have a daughter. ;-)
I was perplexed at first by what seemed to be negative ten percent (-10%) before I realized it should say less than ten percent (<10%).
I would never dictate who any of my daughters (and sons) marry. Providing whoever they married was decent, respectful, and kind to my child. I would try to prevent any relationship if I felt there was any abuse of any kind. It doesn't matter what colour they are, what race, or what sex, just be a good person and ensure my child is happy and loved.
It seems odd to me that some North African countries have less than 10% approval on this. I had assumed that most of the population would be black in those countries. Do I assume wrong??
This has the top of the African continent labeled with the 10% color?
Russian -71 is not measured in the european part, it is Yakutian climate or Buryatian
Yeah, I was wondering where it was measured. Close to the pole circle probably
Load More Replies...The Finland one is from 1999 in Kittilä. Sweden is 1966
Load More Replies...To add context. The coldest temperature ever recorded in my city was -3 Celsius, and that was back in the year 1869.
General information: don't just downvote racist comments but report them. Downvotes don't really have any consequences anymore, but reported comments do.
Thanks. Also Jesus, that was truly appalling to read.
Load More Replies...really? France, Belgium, and Denmark the highest per capita are Jews. Maybe they mean total incidents, because Jews are a small minority in those places. Also kinda racist calling Romani people "gypsies" which is a slur, on the map
No one who is forced to interact with them calls them "Romani" and in fact it's only recently they've taken to calling themselves that for political sway. I've spent the past 12 years living in Romania, the country with the highest population, but also one of the cities with the highest population, and i thought all the same things about discrimination.....until i actually lived around them. The endless stream of half starved stray animals that center around their shanty towns, the never ending stream of parent sanctioned CHILD pregnancies, the piles of trash, the smell of BURNING PLASTIC, the pickpocketing, and thievery. Parents, handing TODDLERS, a plastic bag with solvent in it to huff. Their ethnicity, isn't the issue...their behavior is. The only ones making it about "race" are the ones that don't understand the problem. If you don't understand the problem, you probably shouldn't comment on it.
Load More Replies...in France, it is not the Muslims, but people with the Maghrebi type, there is a big and unfortunate amalgam between Arabs/ terrorists/ Islamists fed by the medias
In Bulgaria and Romania many Romani. They marry at 14 so there you go - teen moms.
As a Romanian, I have to disagree. It's more than that. It's about poverty, lack of access to education, to medical care and to contraceptive measures.
Load More Replies...A lot of Romani folk there. Not trying to be condescending and/or racist it's just how things are, they marry/partner up young
Load More Replies...Exactly. the time limit of 10 seconds is gonna make even some who know panic. Tell me to place South Dakota on the map and my maybe area is about like that and I was good at geography. Edit typo
Load More Replies...Most people got close. Americans also don’t live in Europe, so we don’t know your maps as well as you do.
Yeah, for instance I only know Kentucky and Texas, maybe Florida at a stratcg
Load More Replies...If you count the spots, you'll find only 129. The other ones are mostly in Americas...
I need to save that map and correllate it with deaths from lung cancer. Some European countries have high cigarette smoking rates and low deaths from lung cancer, and vice versa.
Are you seriously trying to tell me that Moscow is safer than London? Or are we only counting criminal activity and not the authorities?
most of the Russian Mafia is located now in London...
Load More Replies...I think this map is probably based on official statistics. Obviously in Moscow, the OFFICIAL figures for reported crime and so on are not going to reflect reality especially when it comes to crimes committed by those working for the state - I don't suppose anyone in the Moscow police records accusations of police brutality, or if they do, the officer concerned finds that their career doesn't work out at all well.
Most European nations have a point when it comes to the precise location of the border. I can't get my head round 23% of Brits thinking that parts of neighbouring countries really belong to us, unless it's (presumably humorously) reasserting the ancient English claim to Calais and various other parts of France (if we left it at Calais, there might be some French people who weren't too unhappy, given some of the opinions I've heard expressed about the town).
I guess it's Gibraltar and Northern Ireland... and I suspect it's actually more than 23%
Load More Replies...Would be interedting, which parts. The Dutch ... no idea. The north of Belgium perhaps? Or Selfkant?
Bull c**p. Greece repeatedly has declared that has no claims at all to any other country.
I wonder why they chose to use the Median, rather than the Arithmetic Mean, or, better yet, the Geometric Mean? Using the latter would have been a much more meaningful expression. Also, using absolute values distorts the picture too. What would be more interesting is the relative wealth, i.e. the disposable wealth, or play-money, left over after all needs are paid for.
I think this is per household, not adult. I only say this because I just read a Fortune magazine article that reported the median in the US just 30 minutes ago that reported the US median was $193k. Which would put it inline with how I'd expect it to compare to Europe. Though it wouldn't explain why Germany, Ireland, and Sweden are so much lower than the other "rich" countries - perhaps those entries are actually per adult. I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt the median Briton is 2x+ richer than the the median German/Swede/Irish.
Well.. there are a Lies, Damned Lies, and here we have Statistics... Wealth pc is calculated differently between countries, but lets take Iceland... Here "wealth" calculation includes all assets and housing prices are stupidly high right now. Therefor if anyone has a smallest apartment - he already has at least 200k in wealth (double that if it's a cheapest house).
Load More Replies...Interesting maps.. but none of this stuff is really important for school
There are so many facts wrong in this article that I would suggest deleting the entire thing, rather than trying to fix every mistake
I think this is per household, not per adult. Oops, I meant to comment on the last post, not general.
