I wanted to feel time and play with its perception for an extented period of time.
I didn’t know what to expect, nor if I could success.
So I set up my camera and a flash to get the same amount of light reaching my face, I put a chair and framed.
I soon realised I couldn’t stay still at the very same place over the 24 hours, but it was more about reality than the need of perfection…
Food and water supplies were ok, bath room was 10s away, everything had to come handy as I was free only 50seconds every minute before the timer rings.
The experience started at noon, daytime was easy to bare as friends came by, we talked, laughed…
Night time was boring as you can’t concentrate for too long on cool things, the timer was an obsession!
In the next morning, hunger, fatigue and lonelines were stressing, my eyes were red and hurting.
The last 3 hours were the worst, at 1pm the next day I finally shot the 1440th and last picture!
I’ve shot enough selfie for the rest of my life, would I do it again? Absolutly no way! Was it worth the performance? Hell yeah!
Here is a 1 minute video showing the evolution of the 1440 photographs, the sounds you can here where the ones I used on the timer app!
