Over the years, I made a number of jig saw puzzles for my family, as Christmas gifts. Usually of a family photo. This year, I got inspired by an old drawing of an unusual tree. And created the ‘Family tree’ you see below. At first, I tried to stick to photo’s of maples, but in the end it took several trees and branches (oak and beech ;-) and even different kinds of leaves, but hey, it didn’t have to be a real tree and this appeared better means to this end.

Info for Photoshop diehards: I had to use Photoshop to the max, the file grew to almost 1,4Gb. The original is 3200 x 4600 px, so I would be able to define even the littlest branches (which in the end: I didn’t, I was on a deadline ;-).

Hope you like it. Cheers, and a happy new year to you all!
