I Am A Sixteen Year Old Managing To Discover Myself Through Short Poems

I believe that poetry is about quality, not quantity. A good poet should be able to say something just as powerful in four lines, as they could in seventeen. I took this as a challenge, and went ahead and began to write shorter and shorter poems, and the result surprised me. My poems revealed a side of myself I didn’t even know existed. I still don’t know who I am, or what I really want to say, but I think short poems are a good way to figure myself out, one word at a time.
