How One Poster Can Help The Homeless Have Access To Menstruation Products
In the United States, about 216,000 women are homeless. However homeless shelters only have enough to give 2 menstruation products per cycle to these women, while normally women use about 20 products per cycle.
We, Perigives is a team of art directors and designer who have created a concept to help solve the issue of the lack of access to menstruation products for homeless. We think this is the perfect timing and thread to share this idea to all of you, in hopes of you’ll join our activation.
We came up with a simple, guerrilla way to give women the ability to share menstrual products in public restrooms that hasn’t been done before.
Perigives is a foldable poster (as shown below) that converts into a free menstrual product dispenser that anyone could donate their spare products in. It is available to download via our website (perigives.com).
All you have to do is print, fold and put it up on a public bathroom.
We did a test run and the results are well received.
Although the solution helps ease the issue, we need more people to join our activation (or even platforms to help inform the public about it). If you’re interested, please do not hesitate to print the posters through our website.
Let’s help solve the lack of menstruation products for the homeless – one poster at a time. :)
