Embarrassing stains on your T-shirt, sniffing someone’s bum to check if your little kid has pooped, the first sex after giving birth… as a first-time mom your life turns upside down. Our cartoon drawings visualize these funny situations in a relatable way.

We, illustrator Ingebritt ter Veld and I, Corinne de Vries, had babies shortly after one another. Our pregnancies and first months as young moms inspired these funny drawings. As a mom, you undoubtedly recognize the drawings of mom's everyday life during pregnancy and after childbirth - but those experiences are not always talked about. With these funny comics “#thingsonlymomsknow” we want to depict the reality of motherhood - with all the (sometimes literally) painful, funny and loving moments.

I'm was a belly sleeper and found out I couldn't do it, anymore. I became a "side sleeper" because I was more comfortable that way, not on my back.

This is so true: After my son was born, my fashion sense went out the window. In the beginning, I actually forgot about myself and concentrated solely my son. Hair, nails, wearing my stylish clothes wasn't even a concern of mine. But when he was a year or so and I was getting myself back, I began to treat myself (get my hair, nails and toes done), so I can look like a nice, sexy mom.

My nephew spit up so much for the first ten months of his life that my brother and sister in law gave up on bibs and started using hand towels. Whichever family member fed him just knew that you were gonna being wearing spit up. My sister in law gracefully took it all in stride. She is a fabulous boy mom!

I taught my wife the standing arm bar when she was pregnant, to combat belly grabbers. She even used it once when a stranger went to touch her.

I'm kinda torn on this one. A lot of pregnant women get offended when you acknowledge their pregnancy and yet expect special treatment because of they're pregnant, such as getting seats in buses and subways.

One time I was pumping at work and listening to my music. I was halfway through when someone new entered the building and didn't know I was using that room at the time. He walked in on me right when 'My milk shakes bring all the boys to the yard' was on. I laughed if off right away (you couldn't make this stuff up!). He didn't come back for a very long time.

The breast pump was a novel idea. It allowed us to pump our breasts and stock up on milk for our babies. But after a while, I had to get rid of mines. The old fashion way is the best.

Or when your toddler figures out how to take off his loaded diaper & paint the crib with it! Gross! He wore onesies every day til he was potty trained after that lol. And when he figured out how to take the onesies off I put them on backwards so he couldn't reach the snaps. Worked well.

Um, yea. These things do happen, especially the one with the pee in the face. Thought it couldn't ever happen. But with my son, nothing is off limits. These are so funny and true.

if you don't stop taking the prenatal pills, your hair won't fall out. my sister never stopped after she had her son and just takes them as vitamin supplements. Her doctor thought it was a good idea since they were are just vitamin supplements anyhow.. Her hair is like a luscious mermaids and her skin is just always beautiful....... sigh.

most women don't she'd hair as much during pregnancy because of certain hormones, so afterwards all those hairs that didn't she'd come out in a hair avalanche.
