Putting on a costume (whether it be a cosplay, Halloween costume, costume party or fursuit) and becoming a whole new character/person. Even when it's a 'humanoid' costume and everyone I know knows it's me. I have social anxiety but for some reason this helps a lot, even though I barely get to dress up :')

Upbeat sounding music. It can be anything, as long as it has a cheerful tune. Either that or I have a playlist of dramatic movie epic (the type of movie, not the slang lol) music. It’s silly, but when I want to be cheered up, it helps.

The song Total Hate '95! I'm the kind of person who cares way too much about what everyone else thinks, and from what I collected from the lyrics, that song is about self-love and not caring about what people think of you. If I'm having a bad day, or I'm just being really self-critical, I just put that song on and I feel much better 💗💗💗

Walking.

I'm 5'3", most people have no clue I'm that short because I stand back from people to not get a crick in my neck. Half the women in my fam are shorter than I am the rest tower over me so I'm in a weird place. The majority of my family is taller than me. To top that off I have shorter legs. Even petite pants are long on me. It's not comical most people just don't realize how long my torso is in comparison to my legs and arms because I usually wear high waisted pants. I also have had damage to both legs and knee issues due to the accident that damaged my legs.

I speed walk everywhere like I'm on some mission. I do not stroll. I cannot saunter. I speed walk and slowing down messes with me because I've always had to be motor legs to keep up with people. I don't know if it's because I always look like I'm off on a quest, but striding around boots my confidence. Especially since I'm overweight, I'm a size 18. People who haven't seen me walk or run just get this shocked look on their face when I pass them walking. I also have a lot of endurance. I can keep the speed walk up as long as I have too.

When I do something that seems easy to me, but then someone else struggles with it a lot and asks me for help. Instead of me thinking they're not smart, it makes me feel like I am smart. Also when a teacher asks me specifically to do something that requires trust or brains (like "hey could you help (name) out with this math problem?" or "could you bring this 20 dollar bill to class (number)?"

Blasting music while doing something in the kitchen, especially when I’m alone. Also not-creepy compliments from people I don’t know well, and dancing.

Daytime talk shows like Jerry Springer. After one episode I'm like "Hey! At least I'm not having a baby with my second cousin!" and I feel a lot more confident in my life decisions.
